City vs Bayern (Friendly) - Post Match Thread

Bernado went out to play after his mates knocked on the kitchen door and told him they were starting a game... he asked his mum and she said he could join them as long as he came back in the moment she called him...

Played well 2nd half as well, although Robben and Coman started to get in behind us and create a few last ditch scrabbles in our 6 yard box. Considering the average age of the team we deserved the win. Foden I thought was superb til he did his hammy. Bolton was good again, and whilst Humphreys and Garcia got caught napping a couple of times without the ball, they were both excellent with it, playing the ball out with a fair amount of aplomb. Diaz was excellent first half, but ran into trouble a bit after the break, Zinchenko was quality as the pivot again, and Nmecha’s touch looked much more assured than it did 2 years ago. Bolton and Garcia have surely done enough on this tour to be drafted into the 1st team squad this season.

No great surprise that Robben, Ribery and Coman were able to cause our kids a few problems.

Bolton and Garcia must surely get into the squad unless they go on loan.

Could Bolton be another of Pep's famous conversions? He has the build of a full back and seems to have terrific pace.

Don't like to get carried away too soon about young players but Garcia has that air about him...

Zinchenko really isn't a full back but I've seen nothing to dissuade me from the view that playing inside as a DM / pivot isn't a role he could be very successful in. He can tackle and his passing range is very good. I also liked the look of Luiz and you can see why Gomes is rated.

After watching the City v. Bayern ICC tie, I come to the following conclusion - there's virtually nothing new evinced by the match.
===
Pluses

Bravo was good in goal, Foden and Diaz reaffirmed their talent.

Minuses

Our left and right backs were continuously beaten by the likes of Robben, Ribery, and Coman.

Our attack created numerous chances that weren't put away.

Mahrez injury sucked. Thankfully the injury seems to be minor.

I'm far less inclined to value Zinchenko - he's got talent but really isn't particularly good at any position. He was easily beaten by a 34-year-old Robben time and again, and - as much as I dislike his commentary - Moreno hit the nail on the head - observing that on offense, Zinchenko very rarely takes on attackers one-on-one - instead, it's an easy sideward/backward pass from Oleksandr, time after time.

WTF is Bayern Thinking?

The Bayern backup keeper is total shit - parrying an easy save right into one of our players and failing to make a routine near post save. How can a top club have such a shitty backup keeper given that their #1 is so injury prone as of late? And Sven Ulreich's incompetence is nothing new - can't for the life of me understand why he's still in goal.

Yawn-ish - actually I rather enjoyed watching that match

As expected in a friendly, pressing was lack-luster, avoiding injury taking top priority - lending artificial excellence to attack on both sides.

I really don't think there's a club in continental europe I enjoy beating more than these self important tw*ts. Especially coming back from 2 goals down. AGAIN. German arrogance at its worst which screams Rag like entitlement from every orifice.

I also see from a recent thread that Ruminegge is at it again blaming us for ruining football by paying inflated prices whilst lauding Real Madrid who have been bailed out numerous time by the spanish government and spent 60 million euro's on Luis Figo in the year 2000 and 78 million euro's on Zinedine Zidane in 2001.

His views hold about as much weight as a German madman screaming abuse at trees in the middle of the Bavarian forest. Back and fronts, the lot of em! Rant over.
