City Vs Bayern Post match Discussion thread

Are you ignoring how good we were in the first 30 minutes at the Allianz

What I am saying is there is not this giant gulf in class that you are implying. You say tonight's form wouldn't beat full strength Bayern, perhaps, but tonight we strolled through the game and won easily without even needing our best performance.

We might be a De Rossi type player away from being a top-top team but at the same time we could beat Bayern's full strength team on our day already just as we have United and other good sides. Our early Champions League naivety is gone now and we will be a much tougher prospect next time you run into us.

I'm not that's for certain, I was very impressed with City in the first 25 or 30 minutes in Munich. We settled down when Gomez scored but if City had scored first who knows how the game would have gone.

It is the same yesterday, I thought our second string did pretty well given the players City had on the pitch but we don't know how the game would have gone if we'd had the likes of Ribery, Lahm and Gomez playing, that's football.
Ultimately I think it was the home game v Napoli that cost you rather than the defeat in Munich, if you'd beaten Napoli at home I think you'd have gone through.

Fair analysis that blade, i hope you do well in the competition and maybe a few of the haters will realize how tough that group was when they meet you.

Great noise from you lads last night also, top fans to be fair.

We shall see you next year good sir :)

I thought City played well. They had a hard group but didn't back down. They will be stronger next year. =)

Even your second string was extremely disciplined, I would say more disciplined than even some of the better PL clubs' regular starting 11.

At least we don't have to worry about losing the Champs League final to Bayern in Munich next May. I am certain that, if they make the final there, they will win it - definitely would have done against us, and I think they are one of very few teams who could give Barca and Real Madrid a contest - Bayern will be formidable in the final whoever they play against on their home ground.

Some "over-analysis" going on here...especially from Bayern fans.

Goals change games.Period.

For all Bayern's quality...if we had taken the lead (through a deserved penalty) in the Allianz arena...we might easily have done a "spurs away / utd away" on them and won 3 or 4 goals to 1.

last night our best football came...surprise surprise...just after we scored.

We have started slowly in quite a few league games...and not got punished (e.g. Norwich could have scored early on).... but we have been punished for our mistakes in CL...and have let in the crucial first goal far too often.
