City Vs Bournemouth Post Match Thread

Attack was awesome yet again. No complaints there.

Still remain nervous about our defensive midfield and centre defense. It's too easy for opposition to play through us.

Its the way we play and everyone needs to get used to it.

Helter skelter in the first half and a bit disjointed in the second. Nobody managed to link the defence and attack once Toure was withdrawn, but by then the game was over as a competition.

Hope Kolarov is fit again soon, as we missed the balance he offers.

yaya and nasri definitely not match fit and are playing due to the massive injury list , zabs , bony , fernando have also not played much football , so a 5-1 home win is a brilliant result , with possibly 9 or 10 squad players not anywhere near their best in fitness or form. We need to avoid defeat against sevilla and rags , and get some of our players back fit

Good first half, second half we couldn't be fucked.

Navas created some good chances today but what the fuck was he doing when he was clean through and past the keeper? Thankfully Sterling showed some new found composure, looks better through the middle for us at present.

I'm still a bit sketchy about our defending, we don't have a great shape and press enough. Not just the back four but the midfield also. Their only chance, which ended up a goal could have easily been prevented.

All this stuff about Bony not being as good as Aguero, or even close to him, does my head in. Of course he's not as fucking good as Aguero! Does anyone imagine that someone even close to Aguero's level would sit on a bench? Of course not! As regards our back-up level: we score 5 (in reality, 6) today, with our two unquestioned world-class players missing. That tells you everything you need to know about back-up…

(Sorry, afterthought: with Vinny not playing, and Yaya not quite right, none of our unquestioned world-class players really playing. Although something tells me that KDB may be joining that august company, in the not too distant future…)

To be fair most just played internationals and have cl midweek. You would be hard pressed to find a man not pacing himself to an extent knowing they had to do that. Not to mention the derby next weekend, also injuries already suffered. I bet Pellegrini was shouting "attack, but do be a bit careful eh chaps" all match tbh.

thought sanga did well at left back as well...much better than having kolorov there

Well said, man. If he were as good as Aguero he wouldn't be on the bench. As long as he scores on important games, it's enough.

5 goals. Sterling hattrick. Bony brace. Ferna and Mangala didn't pick up yellows. Only downside was that twat of a ref, Kelechi denied a clear goal.

Onto Sevilla.
Would love the Kelechi goal to have stood, but the ref also denied them a clear (after seeing the replay) penalty at 0-0 (otamendi "tackle"), so I'm not going to complain too much.

Interesting how this thread doesn't really move much when we play well, and knock a hatful in, eh? "All happy families are alike, each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way". Who said that? (Don't google it, I'm quoting it from memory, might be slightly inaccurate… ;-) )

Best thing for me is seeing the goals returning; It's a far better way to win the league than defending. This side should have 5 goals in them against most of the league, and whilst the solidity of our opening season games was nice, it doesn't beat smashing the opposition for 4 and being able to sit about on the beach for the second half, whilst still picking up a goal or two.

Happy to roll these over after a two week layoff. Sounds like we took our foot off the gas in the second half which is understandable with amount of games played and injuries we have. Well pleased for Bony getting his brace and a first half hat trick for Sterling. Just the fillip the boys needed. Good work, City.

Got to give credit to Bournemouth. Unlike some of the top teams who come to park their busses.
Caused us few problems.
Good to see Distin play against us.

great management regarding yaya if thats the case..........really need him at full pace in the next few games.

He has absolutely been the unsung hero of our season so far. Consistently solid play, and we have definitely needed it given our injuries. And he was free.

fully agree......so much better with him on the left even if he is out of position (though none should be surprised at that)
