Our first team need game time,a week to go till the season starts, that takes precedent over the kids

it never seems like you want any kids to play. you've argued against it in cup games and other games from what i remember. playing foden, who is considered a first team player and more then good enough - in a team full of first team players isn't going to do us any harm. i have a feeling luke bolton might start anyway because we have no match fit right backs right now really.

also as above chelsea are apparently starting a 17 year old on the wing...

surely if you were looking at the bigger picture then someone like foden would be playing. i think he is the future of our midfield. if we play say foden and bolton at right back i can't see it doing us much harm. its a meaningless game swell, so if you can't trust them, then when do you trust them. besides players like foden, diaz are first team squad players anyway.

Yeah I'd like to Diaz and Foden play some part but getting the first choice players minutes is more important.

CIWS - Thanks for the info. I was kind of worried about that. It seems like we are able to view less and less games on TV lately. I remember only a couple of seasons ago when we were able to see almost every City game played except for 3 or 4 of them. Times are changing. Maybe I can find a bar with an illegal hookup or something similar......

This should definitely be used as an integral part of preseason fitness for the whole squad. Latecomers manage time through subs but they need to be involved. It’s essential we hit the ground running at the gunners.
If all seniors are fit there doesnt seem any room numerically on the bench for the youngsters?

Another bit of stupidity from the FA, allowing 6 subs to be used but only allowing 7 to be named, they should allow 12 to be named as happens at the major international tournaments.

I've no problem starting foden in some prem games and cup games but the season starts in just over a week and the first team need to play minutes and not just train,i'd have thought that makes perfect sense

Give the kids a go with a strong bench to come in later

The players who have shone in pre season should be rewarded

Bravo

Garcia stones Laporte

Bolton Zinchenko Mendy

Bernado Foden sane

Nmecha
Ordinarily I would agree but with so many first team players arriving back late, I suspect Pep will want to give them plenty of minutes in readiness for the Le Arse next week

Bravo, Bolton, Kompany, Laporte, Mendy, Fernandinho, Gundogan, Silva, Mahrez, Aguero, Sane
Bring on Ederson, Walker, Stones, Foden, Bernardo, Jesus

Anyone heard about extra time this season if its a draw and then pens? New ruling?
Jeez I hope not.

Rocko - The game is not being broadcast in the States.

Depending on your stomach for virus/malware risk and or copyright infringement and possible legal prosecution, you might be able to find a download once the match finishes. Google "world cup" download torrent and the like for at-your-own-risk torrent/download sites - not at all recommended unless you're aware of the risks (both legal and from malware/viruses) are are computer savvy.

For USA TV broadcast schedules, refer to: http://www.livesoccertv.com/schedules/

Or you could just go on here https://www.reddit.com/r/soccerstreams/ and watch the game live... Thank me later ;)

As Pep always says (whether you believe him or not), the result is not as important as the intention. I’ll be watching the game for the general level of early season fitness and cohesion. In some respects, it might be nice to have a squad that hasn’t been leathered in the 100F heat of the US, and the early season schedule has been fairly kind to us.

Biggest thing is NO 6-9 point gaps opening up for opposition in the first month or two of the season, so the players can get their legs under them without undue pressure on the squad.

Each to their own :)
