Is Yaya really 1 yellow card away from missing the derby?

Eek,there's a dilemma.....Time to step up Javi.
Milner is a big loss,in good form and we'll miss his energy.

Definitely bring Lescott in,maybe Dzeko, both can help deal with screach.

I don't think it's possible to over emphasise how important our next 2 league games are in respect to how our season might shape up. We've got the possibility of being top of the league a week come Sunday but there's also the real possibility that these fixtures could go completely wrong for us and we COULD end up 5-7 points behind.

With Jelavic, Fellaini, Naismith, Oviedo, Pienaar all available there's a fair bit of pace in the Everton team and if we start the game at the slow pace as we have done of late then they can cause us major problems (Vellios and Mirallas are good options from the bench as well).

Likewise defending set pieces; Fellaini, Distin and a few others could create unwanted headlines about our zonal marking system, we have to be completely on the ball (pardon the pun) on Saturday.

There's certain teams we can get away with below par performances against, Everton are certainly not one of them. They'll beat us unless we're up for it and at our best. We know they'll treat it like their cup final, they do up their game for City, rags, Chelsea etc so we have to treat it like ours as well.

Anyway, if we get the next two games out of the way and we're either on top or within touching distance of the rags, we've got a good few "winnable" games coming up afterwards.

It was December we lost our first game last season and until April time I think it's fair to say our season never quite took off again with the exception of the odd game. Hopefully this December we can up it a notch and get a solid place at the top of the league, starting Saturday.
Mirallas a good option from the bench?! If he's fit he'll start and rightly so he is brilliant and has been every bit as good as Fellaini this year.

He's only just started training today after a month out. He might well start but I assume he is more likely to come off the bench on Saturday. Baines might be out with a hamstring injury which is a bonus to us, but Oviedo isn't a bad option at left back/left wing back for them.

set pieces are a big worry for me, is Gibson back? with him and Baines (who ive heard is fit to play) in the team all set pieces going to be a danger, gutted Milner out really wanted him in v this lot, please Tevez must play

Hart
Zaba
Kompany
Nasty/Lescott
Clichy
Silva
YaYa
Barry
Nasri
Tevez
Aguero

play Tevez deep more like extra midfield 4 5 1, if Clichy not fit Maicom RB Zaba LB but not to happy with Maicon for this game

oviedo is a good prospect and looks composed on the ball. so give moyes a few months and he will knock that out of him and have him playing like neville or naismith ;-) doubt moyes will start himin the team on saturday. mirallas is the quality player but can see him starting the game on the bench.

Ayrshire - you raise some valid points but we are a better team and have better players than Everton. We don't have to be at our best because playing at about 80% of our potential we're still better than them and that assumes they are playing at the top of their game. After laying to bed the jinx they have held over us at the Etihad last season I'm optimistic.

Kompany tried to break Cahill in two. How he wasnt sent off is beyond me, he was through on goal as well.

rubbish...it was near the half way line and cahill went in hard and came off worse
Agree Cyprus, absolute nonsense. Happened right in front of where I sit. Cahill tried to 'do' Vinnie and came off second best

Have to say i agree with you on this .....

we fail to fully focus , or work to the maximum in this game , and Everton could well become the first side to win at the Etihad for a long time .... that home record of ours , in itself , will spur them on to give their all ...... i've been warning people that Fellaine was a handful right from the moment he signed for Everton , not that anyone took any notice , but they DO now ... but they also have other players who work hard , and a commendable team spirit , when they need to show it.

Everton are EXACTLY the type of side to sneak an away win on a ground where few others have succeeded ....

The rags cannot be let out of sight , that's for sure .... and early though it is , Chelsea look fragile , and i really don't see them having a 'consistent' season , their balance isn't quite right at the moment .......

whoever sees the rags off will finish top , because they ARE showing consistency , and as you say , if they win at our place the gap could only widen ....

it's all important that we get all three points from Everton ... a scrappy 1-0 would do.
