Agreed, Our new signings will not be happy with 5 or 6, and Hughes or the rest of the club may say they are happy with 5 or 6, but they are not. No way this heavy investment is aiming for nothing less than 4. Everything else will be a big flop. No club would do that, and I think City is the only club who actually can fuck this up and not achieve it.

Lescott was not that bad imo. The central defense is let unprotected most of the time by the midfield and both Touré and Lescott were left on their own very often. Both performed decently.

Easy to blame the defence but playing what amounted to a 4-2-4 formation (even at 2 up) was a bit KK like, especially with our full backs pushing up. Too often we were left 2 against 2 and so it is a bit harsh to lay the blame at the door of our CDs.

Team selection was poor. Too many attacking players and nobody to really create for them. I wonder why we seem to have abandoned the 4-3-3 formation that seemed to work much better. We really didn't seem able to vary the play today.

At the very least we should have tightened up at 2-0. Petrov was decent going forward but if he had tracked back with Duff, maybe their 1st goal wouldn't have been so easy.

I think Hughes is presently struggling to try and fit in all the players he wants to and the structure and formation is suffering as a result.

We have only lost once but based on the last couple of performances, top 4 will probably be out of our reach this season.

I think that the measure of a good team is that when they are good they win and when they are bad they draw. So im not too disappointed about the result.

In my eyes we are improving and are in a good position for a newly assembled team. I think we will see a much improved team at the business end of the season.

what the fuck is hughes thinking??? Why the fuck was Ireland not starting this home game, it would have been perfect for the type of player he is, no instead hughes in his fuckininfinite wisdom plays tevez, a battles, a fighter against fulham at fucking home, for fuck sake, not to mention fucking De Jong, a fucking awesome player but at home to fulham when Ireland is available. you have a point. players will not come from champions league qualified teams. but it is 9 games in. no need to panic.

Hughes has no clue. His plan is useless. City is getting worse every week. Selling Elano is a big mistake. Elano could have made difference with a game like this.
