City Vs Hull Post Match Thread

Efficient display tonight.

Very encouraging things all over the pitch; great to see Merlin get 83 minutes under his belt, more minutes and another goal for Nacho, Otto looking better with every game Delph playing the full match, another goal for Wilf and injuries apparently clearing up.

All-in-all a solid performance. Just a shame about the goal conceded. Never mind, it's another semi-final and we're still in the hunt for the League Cup.

On the way out, someone near us said of de Bruyne, "They'll name a stand after that lad one day!"

Merlin, KDB and Otamendi were all phenomenal and each could have been MoTM. Sterling and Nacho provided a really nice spark after they came on. Delph provided the energy in the middle as well.

Otamendi my MOTM. He is looking better and better. That pairing of Mangala and Otamendi maybe works, and certainly limits the damage imposed by Vinny's long absences (it hardly needs saying that our first choice is Vinny with either of those two, and preferably Otamendi).
Apart from the obvious things, just look at De Bruyne's first touch for our first goal. It wasn't a particularly good pass, but his touch, at full stretch, is exquisite — it kills the Hull defence stone dead. The shot isn't half bad either. He is going to be a beast for us.
Also, just one or two little interchanges between El Mago and KDB showed what's up ahead. Nothing spectacular, just very gifted footballers who understand each other.

Honestly thought we played it like a training session. We were so much in control and hardly broke into a sweat.
Positives: Merlin back, KDB awesome as was Otto, decent game by Willie and Mangs Nacho looks so much better than Bony although saying that Bony took hs goal very well.
Negatives: Bony apart from goal was awful no movement at all, Navas always seems to pass backwards, and why didnt Pellers give Garcia a bit of a run instead of MDM?

Happy days as Wembley beckons us again.

Poor first half, trying to break down a defensive Hull who never looked like scoring or even threatening. We didn't work it quick enough from the back because the best chance to open them up was when their wing backs bombed on and left the 3 centre halves exposed. They were so poor that we should have gambled more, pressed more and moved better, because every time Silva had the ball he didn't have enough options.

Second half miles better, as I expected, and it was obbvious that they would "go" once the second went in. To be fair to Bruce they changed formation and started to go for the equaliser after about 70 minutes, and then we destroyed them. 7/10. Job done.

i just saw on Daily Fail that the first game of SF will be on 4 january...welll we have watford away on 2 january and at 5:30...hmmmm

What has nacho got to do to get a chance instead of bony looked great when he came on
