City Vs Spuds Post Match Discussion thread

Nasri saw what Mario tried to do, hence the way he spoke to him after the incident.

It was a stamp, or rather he attempted to. Such a silly thing to do.
Mind reader i see

good job we won, utd playing very well. i might have underestimated them.

playing against 4 fullbacks and with no threat from midfield. United are the better team of course but this is a patch-work Arsenal side to say the least.

Today was tense and the two incidents took the shine off the victory. Important three points but not sure we deserved them. A draw was a fair result. Barry was excellent as was Silva and Aguero. Savic had a solid game apart from the mistake and Milner gave his usual non stop never give up kind of performance. Felt sorry for Edin didnt have a great game, still love him though.

Firstly, extremely happy with the win! Well done to all the boys.

Secondly, I agree with most that Savic looked shaky at times in the second half, but the first goal I would pin as much blame on Joe for trying to outrun Defoe instead of staying goalside and making him earn that goal. He never should have come out as he had zero cover and no chance of getting that ball. And their second, fuck me it was a great strike, what can you do about that?

As for Balo and Lescott's incidents, I was unable to hear any comments by the commentators on tv over the crybaby bullshit from all the Spurs fans in the bar, but I think neither were intentional. Everything looks bad in slow motion, but in real speed they looked like Mario falling and trying to catch himself and Lescott and Kaboul heading in opposite directions and coming together. However based on rep alone, Mario is 50/50.

All this said I am very happy with our resilience during this tough time for the side. Many first choice players are out, but we are getting the results we need. It certainly could be worse than just being out of 1 cup.

make your own minds up!

I know it's not possible, but Bale in our side would make us the 2nd best team in Europe. Big-game player, and his pace and crossing attributes he would bring would fit in well as they are two things we often lack.

40 mil + Adebayor.

Can't say I agree with you there mate. Thought he may as well not have been on in the first half and frankly if Savic hadn't gifted them a goal I wouldn't have put it past him to meander off in the second half either. A critisicm I've often heard from Spurs fans is his ability to do something amazing in a match then think he's done his bit and disappear for a bit.

That said though, you can't take anything away from his pace or his shot/cross. Like Ronaldo (I make the comparison in the loosest sense, though who coincidentally is one of two players I think would make us the second best side in Europe), he can be a one man counter attack. And he certainly does scare teams into setting up a certain way.

How many times have united won games like that and gone on to win the league? I believe more and more each week. Onwards and upwards.

-- Sun Jan 22, 2012 4:46 pm --

How many times have united won games like that and gone on to win the league? I believe more and more each week. Mario was falling and tried to get his balance you can make gifs look like anything just by the angles and the speed. Watch it in real time, it was far from intentional.
