City Vs Stoke Pre Match Discussion Thread

I don't want to see Aguero starting any time soon. Daft as that sounds.

But we need to keep him in cotton wool and certainly not waste him on big lumps like Stoke. I expect Edin to be fit and us to start Jojo and Edin again, but if he isn't, I'd play Nasri or Silva or Yaya up top. Not Aguero for 95 minutes. Much better to bring Aguero on when Stoke are knackered, than start him when they are sharp and will just kick him up in the air.

If we're Ok with injuries then give Lampard some game time (for Toure), and if Zaba needs more rest then bring Sagna on.

Completley disagree. The club are handling Aguero perfectly. We are giving him a proper pre season which he didn't get last season working with him during training and then giving him 10-20 minutes game time strengthening his body so he doesn't break down again. He will start games when his body is ready to start games again. It's vital we keep him fit because a fit Aguero all season could mean winning the title or not.

In a nutshell.

And whilst he's only good for 30 minutes, better to bring him on for the last 30 than start and then bring him off. He's going to be most effective running at tired defenders.
