Preparing for disappointment

It's important to always keep a sense of perspective. In any sport the outcome is never certain. The underdog does win every now and then. There are upsets. This is the reality of sport. Therefore we need to be positive and show maximum support for the team, but be prepared to accept the worst should it happen. This is a philosophy for life not just football support.

Mancini said in his prematch interview that it's a football match not a war. I find it refreshing that he has an appropriate perspective rather that the ridiculous hype that the media prefer to bestow on the game.

Ffs man up and be positive

It's not the end of the world if we don't win, we've had fuckin 44 years to get used to it!

This is our chance to seize the day and put them to the sword.

I have this feeling that it will be a game of two halves. The team playing better in the second half will prevail. Sporting Lisbon at home, perhaps? For those planning to throw profanities and insults at our players on the Matchday Thread, please be patient. We may still be behind after as much as two thirds of the game, but we can still pull off a famous victory. Fingers crossed.

Re: Preparing for disappointment

Living overseas, all I've been reading about has been the heavy and persistent rain in the UK. That brings back memories of a recent trip to Burnley when we won by what score exactly? Oh yes, it was 1-6 if my memory serves me right.
