Stylish Man City beat Villa to top table
Manchester City went top of the Premier League table in style with a 4-1 win over Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium.
Mario Balotelli scored a hat-trick in this fixture last season, and the Italian opened the scoring a dazzling overhead kick in the first half.
Adam Johnson and Vincent Kompany struck soon after the break to put the game out of sight, rendering Stephen Warnock's goal midway through the second half little more than a consolation. James Milner rounded things off with an excellent goal at the end of a move he initiated.
The result sends City two points clear of local rivals and reigning knobends The Rags, who were held to a 1-1 draw at Liverpool earlier in the day. It also ended Villa's unbeaten start to the league campaign under manager Alex McLeish, leaving them in mid-table.
