City Vs Wigan Pre match Discussion Thread

Very difficult to guess the team. Platt's pre-match press conference on http://www.mcfc.co.uk is interesting and gives some insight into his thinking

Silva is doubtful, but close and improving every day. Rodwell and Richards are just short of match-fitness but they are wary of starting too many players who may not make 90 mins as may need to give some players a breather after Wembley

...................Hart
Zab.........Kolo....Lescott.......Kolarov
...................Garcia
........Nasri...Yaya Toure...Milner
...............Tevez...Dzeko

Looks like a big crowd too. Looks like we've sold the tickets that are normally allocated to away fans to City fans so the ground should be packed to welcome the team home after Wembley

2nd spot is not done yet.
We have some hard games, like Spurs and Swansea away.
We need to win this.
Why are some of you wanting to rest Kun?

Because he looked absolutely shattered after the final whistle on Sunday? As did a few of them, Wigan are a decent side but if we can't rest a few players after a hard 90 mins at the weekend and with Spurs coming up then what's the point in having a squad?

Couldn't have put it better myself.

He looked fucked because he hasnt played 90mins since we played Chelsea on the 24th Feb!! Nearly 2 months. That was he first 90 since then. Tevez needs a rest alot more.

Full strength side needed. We can't allow the chasing pack to catch us up. We need to sow up second or 3rd place as soon as we can. Wigan are desperate for 3 points and will come to win.

Exactly this. By 10:00 tonight Arsenal could be only 3 points behind us.

We will have played 2 games less then Arsenal by tonight. There is no chance Arsenal has any chance of grabing 2nd place.

Yes, I am well aware of that. But remember after Wigan we are away at Spurs and also we will have a game before the cup final where players wont want to get injured, plus there are away trips to Swansea and Reading to come. All I was pointing out is that we should take this match tomorrow night very seriously and maintain a 6 point advantage.

I'd go for:

-------------------Hart--------------------

Zaba------Kolo-------Lescott-------Kolarov

------------Garcia--------Barry------------

Milner-------------Yaya-------------Sinclair

------------------Dzeko-------------------

SUBS : Pantilimon, Kompany, Clichy, Rodwell, Nasri, Tevez, Aguero.

I think we should have an extremely strong bench incase thing aren't going according to plan but we need to rest players after the match at the weekend.

I'd go

..................Hart.........................

...Richards.....Kolo.......Lescott......Kolarov.....

...Nasri.......Garcia.......Rodwell.......Sinclair.......

.................Tevez.......Dzeko...........

Sinclair starting?

Sometimes I think we'll see Filippo Mancini start before Sinclair!

Seems to be have been some late ticket sales for this game so it might barely squeeze to a sell out if some buy on the day.
