City Watch owner sentenced to 28 months in prison

No that's the "hackers from Thailand" he employed to fuck up other people's lives because he's a fucking poser who doesn't know shit about programming and had to call me in to setup a front end proxy for him because he was to dense to do it himself.

This computer whiz idea is a joke.
Wow sound like you should have testified lol

I only use Twitter for music related stuff, gig news, festivals and all that malarkey. City watch was my one football related follow as it seemed to be on the ball for news. Seen him start up from just being a poster on here. What a horrible bastard. I would have smashed his teeth in if he had done out like that to me. I will just stick to Bluemoon now for news.

One thing that worries me, with the anominity of the internet, what's to stop him starting up a similar page or site in the future? Will he be banned from accessing the Internet?

Calm down,i'm sure they will be told tomorrow if not already
I am calm but this isn't really difficult to do Kaz. It's a click of a button that took me less than a few seconds to do when the news broke.
If fans knew before it was official then I've no doubt that the club had an idea of what was going on

Weirdly they were almost secondary. The guy got rightfully locked up for being a mad psycho stalker who tried to terrorise some people, they found the child porn when they went round to nick him for the mad psycho shit
That's why i mentioned it again, for me there is nothing as bad as that without taking anything away from all the other stuff which is awful

Second hand info. Very little to do with me, apart from the programming stuff. I'm more extremely irritated that he put some of the people I really care for who helped on the 9320 podcast through hell over the past few years. He exploited the community spirit of City fans and the dreams of young people wanting a start in the sports media for his own power fantasy. I'm actually much more cross about this than I might seem. He literally used people's goodwill against them in an exploitative way.

It’s not a club issue. It’s some nutter who happens to run a fan site. This won’t be being discussed in the higher echelons at City. I doubt it will ever even register with the current players. They’ll get tipped off by twitter users if they retweet or whatever.

Apologies for bad spelling, my keyboard seems to be fucked.

But the pod breakaway wasn't really about the money. Essentially one guy owned the brand, one guy did literally all the work and they didn't agree on who was in charge. I've worked with Ahsan on the CW Podcast and helped him setup the 9320 Podcast and he just isn't driven at all by money, he's totally about the creative process, believe it or not. He wanted his own space and the guys at CW wanted to move to get out from under Stu who was suffocating.

Stu consulted early on about the City Watch website and what his plans were, and it would be fair to say that monetisation was one of the goals. But even then he was more about how he could create a brand rather than how he could make money. Not to defend the man, I hope he burns to death.

I think we're giving the Club too much credit here, unfortunately

Don't think it was anywhere near as complicated as that. He was just a control freak, and when people wanted to leave he hated it. They only left because his behaviour got mental. He didn't lash out because it was about to fail, he lashed out because he was a nutter.

I actually did briefly write for CW when the website was launching. I spoke to him a fair bit, not gonna lie. Most involved in content creation in the city community did. I left because i couldnt be arsed, but even then I thought he was a bit odd. I remember suggesting things for the upcoming site and he was ridiculously defensive. I thought he was just one of those social awkward types who never leaves the house tbh...didnt think he was an actual monster. I'm just glad I got out 6 months earlier or it could have been me! Given it was initiated over the podcast stuff, and id been making videos, then it most definitely would have affected me too as id have done some episodes no doubt. Im mega relieved.

Thanks both for the clarification. I suppose my mind turned to money because that's a tried and tested motive for people who do shitty things.

Just doing it because hes a control freak is harder to understand especially when you consider his other crimes. You'd think someone like that would be discreet, and generally avoid crimes which would get your computer searched.

Speaking of - if the reports on Twitter that he is the person who's been running CityWatch for the last few months are true, while the court had imposed restrictions on him doing so, presumably that's something that could be fairly easily proven.

Glad to hear you weren't mixed up in it Steve, it's always scary to realise how close you can get to potential disaster or people like that and be none the wiser.
