Twas indeed a practice match although for Zoe Tynan , Alethea Paul and Amelia Kemp a very big deal as it was their first game stepping up from the academy side. I thought Zoe did very well as the deep lying midfield player. Keeping it mainly very simple, always available and virtually always finding a City player. She showed a decent first tough as well and it was a good debut. I would worry a little that she might not have the pace at the top level.
Not so easy for Alethea in the wide left role with a bruiser defender to contend with ( as well as the ref not seeing things) but she also showed a decent touch and awareness. Amelia only came on late so not much to go on.

I thought Steph getting MotM was a bit much when she had almost no real defending to do :) Keets for me.

Dead right. The debutantes did very well, and I think there were more involved performances for PotM. Steph did just a little more than Marie Hourihan!!

I thought Jane Ross was the pick yesterday. Her hold up play was excellent and chipped in with a goal.

Two academy players in the starting line-up and three more on the bench.

In fairness though, MCWFC have only got 17 senior players on the books at all and three of them are injured, so it's going to be a heavily academy-based team this season anyway.

I seen the gaffers interview, after the game.were he explained whilst some teams have 22/23 players he doesn't see it like that with regards to the amount off game they have to play.
But he did mention that he happy with our academy players which will be included..
As which as been proven.

The draw for the semi-finals of the women's fa cup, Chelsea v City, Arsenal v Sunderland. Is it me or does this draw look a bit dodgy ? Both the London clubs drawn at home in the two semi's, I get the feeling the FA fancy Chelsea to beat us, and Arsenal to do Sunderland at their home grounds, so they get a London final in a London stadium ! Shouldn't the semi be at leased half way to be fair ? So come on City & Sunderland, let's have a northern final to piss the FA off.

I'm pretty sure you're actively looking for a bias with that one.

Well I expect it's easier to sell tickets to people just a tube rider away, then it is to people living two three hundred away for the final !

How do we get Semis of a Cup on the grounds of two of the teams still in it? If it were two-legged I can understand. Have the FA explained or is it all buried deep in the small print of the cup rules? I smell a smoked haddock or similar!

Is there a video by chance of a draw taking place, whether there is a microwave in the kitchen or not?

Edited:

Just been on the FA site:

The draw was conducted by England Women’s boss Mark Sampson and assistant coach Marieanne Spacey at St. George’s Park, during a break in the Lionesses’ preparations for their Euro 2017 qualifying double-header against Belgium and Bosnia.

This season, for the first time in the competition’s history, the draws were conducted in front of a captive audience at schools in Brent and Doncaster and in front of the England squad at the national football centre.

For the FA Women's Cup? A match which boasted 30,000 attendance last year and sells tickets for £15 to adults and £5 to children? That probably nets about a quarter of a million for the FA, before the deductions for all of the operating costs they have to pay every time there's a game there. Maybe £200,000 profit. Perhaps you could double that if Arsenal were playing too - although if they were, I bet the Metropolitan Police suddenly slap the FA will a six-figure sum for bringing out the mounted police in force.

I somehow doubt that the FA are so desperate to recoup their losses on building Wembley that they intend on rigging the draw for the FA Women's Cup.

You obviously have more faith in the F.A., than most of us do ;-)

I'm just saying, a Chelsea verse Arsenal final would suit the FA more than a City v Sunderland final would it not ? And yes the draw would (should) of been straight , but all I'm saying is, I bet the FA are hoping for Chelsea Arsenal final, to sell more tickets !
