Citys Aguero Persuit Destroys RAWK [Merged]

It would be quite fun to sign up for Rawk and play the part of an uber scouse sentimentalist, see how long it was before they cottoned on. Unfortunately, as Hamlet said, my wit's diseased.

Oh dear, 1-0 down in Norway, after 15 mins. On ESPN now,
Adam hacks a player down for a penalty.

Commentator "I think that was very much a home decision, harsh penalty"

He nearly kicked the lads fuckin leg off!

People spent last seaosn talking about Charlie Adam's passing, his freekicks, his goalscoring etc, what they failed to mention was his tackling. Adam was the most booked player in the Premier League last season, and some of his tackles were awful, he put Gareth Bale out for the season with a particularly bad one against Spurs. He may have a certain level of ability on the ball, but bearing in mind he's not a midfield enforcer type, his disciplinary record is unacceptable. How many more tackles must De Jong have put in last season than Adam, yet Adam got far more bookings?

He put Silva out of a couple of games with a tackle from behind at our place as well.

I don't understand. Why is it?

If it was a Fulham fan saying 'I have this strong feeling that Andy Johnson will win more Premier League titles than Aguero'
Then you might have a point.

Its probably a bit optimistic in light of the amount of spending City are doing, but don't see how its idiotic now Liverpool are back to spending what they make commercially...which is a lot. Can't knock a guy for being optimistic about his team's chances.
Liverpool haven't won the league in a very long time. Man City haven't for even longer. But its likely both teams will challenge in the forthcoming years as both have the resources to do so. Comparing Liverpool now with Man City 5+ years ago is what is idiotic.

Why dont you just give it up m8 and admit you're a liverpool fan. A bit optimistic do me a favour m8 its an outrageous claim they spent hugely under benitez and couldnt get it done, they have signed mediocre players and have no enticement of the champions league or european money which severely dents their income stream so dont assume they have alot to spend either.

Liverpool have showed nothing over the last 2 seasons to prove that they will be challenging this year, this myth that king kenny is bringing back the good times is a laugh, when it mattered last year liverpool couldnt get it done and nothing in this seasons team shows otherwise
You're right I do support pool. I'm a Blackpool ST holder. I just enjoy pointing out what appears to be the ridiculous irony of a thread laughing at the dicks on RAWK, when it contains nonsense itself. I've not said anything remotely biased towards Liverpool... Just because i'm not biased towards Man City you seemingly don't like it, i've no idea why you're being so defensive.

Liverpool have a very good first team and an excellent manager. Its by no means outrageous that they could build on that in the next few years and win the league. The bookies don't think its outrageous either. They're 10/1 in most places. They've proven already they have a lot to spend as well. Did you miss them spending £50m this summer so far?

What have the last 2 seasons under a got to do with anything either? What Benitez did and what he wasted is completely irrelevant. So no idea why you brought it up. They're a completely different team from the turgid Hodgson-led one that we owned at Anfield, let alone from 2 years ago.
Under Dalglish they had top 4 form. They destroyed Man City and Man Utd at Anfield IIRC. Beat Chelsea away from home. Drew at the Emirates. Smashed Fulham. Although we did beat them again ;)
Comapred to this time last year they have Suarez, Carroll, Downing, Adam, Henderson and Doni all improving their squad and have lost only a off-form Torres.

I don't think they'll win the league this year and Man City are ahead in terms of team ability But they could easily have won a few titles in 10 years time if they carry on their current model of investing in young and talented players of Suarez's ilk. Just like Man City could have won 10 titles, but they could also have won 0.

So to summarise.
Liverpool could win the league in the next 5-10 years.
Man City could win the league in the next 5-10 years.
Blackpool won't win the league in the next 5-10 years.
bag...............

Here's a few samples:
A pretty good mate of mine has been a City fan for years now, massive supporter before they got the owners they have now. He talks a ton about how little respect he has for the club these days, and how frustrating it is for him to see so many knobs supporting the club he watched as a child. He said he didn't feel the ecstasy he expected to feel after they won the FA Cup this year, and just that he's disappointed with how his club has in many ways become the laughing stock of the league. In a some ways I do feel bad for him, the die-hard fans are being robbed of that true feeling of success, that feeling of, we did this as a club. But hey, that's modern football.

Man City won't get within a dozen points of top spot this season.

What? You don't have question marks over the likes of Milner, Lescott, Bridge, Barry, Wright Phillips, Johnson, Dzeko, Kolo Toure, Hart, Richards and a couple of others? Yes City have made some stellar signings but that lot is quite an intermediate collection. We have stellar players of our own. Seriously why is everyone shitting themselves? I'm not frightened of these nouveau riche wankers and I doubt Kenny and the boys will be either.

There's some posts on there saying that our defence isn't up to much either :-S
