City's all time hardest 11

Mike Summerbee and Franny Lee were as hard as nails, with Doyle supporting them
In fairness Squirty there wasn't that weren't in those days. A different breed of human altogether back then.

Agreed
Every team had their 'hard man'
I remember chopper Harris scraping his studs down the front of Buzzer's shin
Buzzer squared up to him and reportedly said "ooh look you've laddered my stocking"

Big Dave Watson ...who wasn't actually very BIG at all, but could mix it up with the best. He certainly didn't lose too many aerial scraps!

Can't see what Trautmann ever did to warrant being in that team.
t

Read his biography - when captured on the Russian front, him and a few colleagues were held in a hut.
Bert and a few hatched a plan to escape but his superior officer said they weren't to do it so Bert twatted the officer, and then twatted the guard, stole his gun and off they escaped.
In darkness in woods, he saw a figure coming towards him, had no idea who it was so shot him dead!

This x 1,000

Trautman even > Morrison. Kind of another league of hardness right there!

Read the Goats autobiography last night and he said Andy Morrison would eat you (which I am sure all of us kind of knew), he also said Danny Tiatto was very nice and quite then one day he just went mental and stuck with it.

Got to have Tiatto and Morrison in there.

hard and brave are not the same. Dickov and Zabs would take on a rhino, Morrison would kill it.
Dave Ewing never backed down, Buzzer never flinched, Kolarov is always first to any skirmish and looks like he means it (unlike the arse fans with Adebayor) thatcher and tiatto were just thugs, the player with the most scars on his face was Wyn Davis, put his head where others wouldn't put their feet

Nicky Ried

Nicky Reid broke the scroll bully's collar bone on his first day in secondary school for stealing his pen.

Not quite Bert on the Russion front but a tough lad all the same

Put Stuart Pearce on his arse at the City ground too, home fans hadn't a clue who this young upstart was to put their Psycho in his place

Neil Pointon?

Didnt kompany play the last hour for Belgium with a broken nose, concussion and a cracked eye socket?....either hard as fuck or daft as a brush.....

He's more well known as a liverpool player but always thought Steve Mcmahon was a hard case. Read somewhere that another player saw him getting stitches in his cock at half time and still played the second half.

You wouldn't go far wrong with Zab by side.

Not wrong, it's the quiet ones you have to be wary of.
Zab is a great guy, but i reckon if you piss him off, he will fuck you up.

As Ashley Young found out last season at the swamp.

He accused Zab of diving (ironic much?) and 5 minutes later was being carried off on a stretcher.

Do not piss Zabba off.
