City's greatest ever players

The original intention was to only include players who had excelled whilst at City.

Robinho is obviously a better footballer than, say, David White but White scored 96 goals for City. Robinho only scored 16.

But Denis Law makes it Ric??? Hopefully somebody will put me in my place on this one but he was a United great not really a City one. Besides THAT goal though. Not criticising though I would not know where to start.

Backheeling United into the Second Division should've really merited a higher place than he was given!

Add Yaya , David and Sergio to Colin and Bert. There is your top 5 now. Doherty and swift are a tough ones because unless you actually saw them you are relying on the word of others. I believe Peter was our best ever but how can you confirm or deny this?
I would have Ali in a heartbeat streets ahead of Gary Owen, David White and SWP. Of the others simnce you did the list you have to add Joe, Zabba, Vinnie and Carlos as well. I'd even argue a point for Gaz Baz and Nige!

That is a very true argument and for people like me (39) Its difficult to gauge how good Colin Bell was as a player. Some say the greatest ever but my generation have watched world cup winners like David Silva, Champions league winners like Yaya and Aguero rated one of the worlds best strikers. Its a tragedy you cannot turn the clock back and see players like Docherty, Meredith, Brook, Swift, Trautmann, Johnstone etc.

If you talk to any of the old-timers who've watched us since the 1930's and 1940's, they all say Peter Doherty, without hesitation.
Let's say the started watching in 1920 (to remember watching in the 30's), that makes them 96 now.

We sure we can trust them on Doherty over Silva or Aguero?

Kolarov?

126 appearances and all the medals?

He's been a good servant to the club but he's never really been a key player, often times even being marked as our weak link. He's in the same kind of situation as Lescott and Milner, he won a bunch of stuff with us but hasn't really been a standout player at any point, good servants and maybe even cult favorites but not really frontrunners on a list like this.
