Whoever was there in 1976 couldn't have possibly believed we would wait 35 years to add to that honours list.

What riles me most is when Liverpool fans (or indeed players) start talking about our lack of history, conveniently ignoring the fact we first won the FA Cup a full 64 years before them, or won a European trophy before they did. Seems they have a selective version of history. Dey do dat doe don't dey.

I've a feeling notts forest were the first team to do the euro domestic double, and we were second. I could be wrong though.

Forest didn't win a European trophy until 1979.

City won the League Cup and ECWC in 1970.

Evertonians take the biscuit though. Some of them would have you believe we have never won a single trophy.

I would dearly like to see us win a couple of FA Cups and the Europa League in the coming years as that would put us ahead of Everton in everything but League titles.

Maybe that would shut the scroats up a bit.

We, along with Everton, were the first team to wear numbers on the back of the shirts at a FA Cup final...........1933 Wembley

Now we wear the numbers on the front so the fans think we are attacking..:-)
