Citys worldwide profile

Wonder how long it will be until the world stops referring to the rags as 'Manchester' dont know about anyone else but that really winds me up...

I am sure one of the commentators on the Derby match actually called Manure Manchester - idiot.....

No publicity is bad - Even the Kaka saga which really put us on the map

Please see odds for 2010 season (look at Everton & Villa compared)

I'm sure a lot who wear their shirts abroad this summer will notice a difference.

I've always loved the shouts/car horns etc i've gotten over the years from other City fans when wearing a City top on my hols, not quite sure i'm gonna like going on holiday in 10 years time to see even the locals wearing City tops lol

On trips abroad in the past when I have not been wearing a City shirt but have told people I am from Manchester (I am from Bury actually but it is easier to say Manchester so they get the right neck of the woods) they all immediately refer to Manure. I explain that they are talking sh*ite - politely of course but many times they don't seem to have heard of City. Shouldn't be a problem in future!

It may sound daft but I saw Tom Hanks on TV the other day talking about football (in a very limited American kind of way). It struck me that he asked Jonathan Ross - is it Manchester City or Manchester United - the fact that he had even heard of City and was treating them as being confusable (if there is such a word) with Manure told me that we are much more on the map as the OP says.

i just watched tom hanks on jono ross on youtube and he didn't metion football!

Can't do links but try entering

Tom Hanks talks about football funny loves villa

in the youtube search engine - that may do it

Winds me up too. But was reading an article on the way to Schalke and their manager reffered to us as 'Manchester' which put a smile on my face.

Long thought that the club should simply put "Manchester" on the scoreboard instead of "City" as it is possible that it will be shown on TV around the world from time to time.

I had the same thing the other day in t'Egypt, this waiter say's to me "Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal - where is Manchester City ?" quick as a flash I put my hand on my heart and replied "In here, unlike those other Dickhead's who jump on the bandwagon !!" - my wife was fucking pissed off with me for taking the bait and being a bit loud in the restaurant !!

Ignore this as Newcastle have similar odds to Fulham and Wham
