CL draw - Basel

Someone over in Red Cafe was complaining before the draw that we'd probably get Basel because the whole thing is rigged and we're really jammy. It was obviously lost on him that they had Basel in their group - and that apparently pony Basel team came second.
 
I have been to Basel to see Hearts in 2005
Brilliant trip.
Plenty of bars.Grub is good.
Pricey but the ground was good with a good set up.Tram from centre to ground.lol.
 
The only negative is Basel is soooo expensive.... was there with NI last month. Literally 10 euro pints...
 
well the rags underestimated Basel to their peril, hopefully we don't pull another Monaco and do the same again with the easiest draw.

Should be a good tie for us, and a good away trip. No excuses now, and with one of Real/PSG and Barca/Chelsea going out, as hopefully will the rags in Seville, then we should have enough routes to get through the last 8. Really key that we keep our league form up over the winter so we have a big lead when we get to February that we can afford to rotate in the league if necessary to give the CL our full priority. Could fall into place this season if we keep our focus.
 
Great draw for us, couldn't have asked for a kinder opponent really, not a million miles to travel either and the added bonus of a few heavyweight ties which will result in strong contenders being eliminated. Should be 4 English sides through to the quarter finals as Juve aren't the same force of the last few years and i wouldn't rule out all 5 making it either. If that happens though it's going to lead to a few very boring domestic ties.
