Might be wrong but I don't think we can get Porto unless Tel Aviv get a result against Kiev. If Porto beat Chelsea they go top. If they don't they go third behind Kiev (assuming Kiev beat Tel Aviv). So it would be Kiev if we drew 2nd from that group.

Kiev win and a draw puts Porto second.

Best if both follow the rags into the EL. They should all get a decent distance in that, at least to the Quarter Final, so it keeps them busy on a Thursday night and that should help us domestically. Also it keeps the English coefficient up the further they get and hopefully keeps us ahead of Italy. But for selfish reasons, we should want them to all go out of the CL as that directly impacts the money we get from the CL market pool, part of which is based on how many games each team plays compared to the others in the same association. So if they all go out now, they'll have played a cumulative 18 games. If we get to the QF, we'll have played 10 games out of a total of 28 and get more money.

We'll finish 4th sooner or later though and we won't be laughing then. Rather the clubs below improved and took their places.

It'll be a couple of seasons before that happens I think. So even if our coefficient dropped below the Italian one at the end of this season, then it wouldn't happen until the 2017/18 season. So we'd still get four teams next season.

The other advantage of that is that the market pool would still be the same for the English clubs in monetary value but it would only get split 3 ways instead of 4. So as long as we continue to finish in the top two, that would be great for us.

If the PL loses a champions league spot then 4th is useless and 3rd potentially a very dodgy play off, there's no guarantee we'll keep finishing in the top 2 every season, especially when the time comes to phase out a player like Silva or Aguero.

Can away fans travel to PSG or have they all been banned?

I think they said the domestic ban on away supporters was just until mid December, so hopefully it will be ok again by February. We could do with getting clarification before the draw though.
