Were Manchester now!

How do they work out the odds?

Countries with two/3 teams in the draw. Add can't play team from same group.malso don't they still have halves of the draw?

Barcelona & Madrid can't play the same night can they? Both Madrids on the same night?

Ok that makes sense, cheers.

Re: CL Round of 16

Doesn't really matter who we get. At 84 mins against Bayern we were looking at Pellegrini getting sacked and us being the laughing stock.

Amazing game football.

We are a notch below Bayern, Real and Barca but let's enjoy the ride and can the fans who don't bother with this comp, get of their arses and make the effort in the next round. The players deserve it after tonight.

I would like Monaco then Porto.

Dortmund are struggling in the League, but that probably means they will put everything into the Champions League and we know they are a good team.

Dark horses for me are PSG. We can't play them as they finished 2nd, but they are just as good as Barca, Real Madrid and PSG in my opinion.

Next round will be played 17/18 Feb and the 24/25 Feb with the draw on the 15th December

PSG are well below Real Madrid and Bayern. Bellow Chelsea and Barca too. On same level as City.

I would make you favourites due to momentum and confidence over anyone, but Madrid. Monaco are by far the worst team out of the group leaders followed by Porto. I think you would beat Dortmund if you met them in the last 16, but I don't see why you would want them. They are my tip to win it this year, but I have a feeling you will make the semi or final.

Have you seen dortmund's league position

It is not just the league position - it is what is not right in all of their play. If the opposition plays smart and does not run into the knife they are not anymore what they were 2 years before. It is not missing Lewa and Götze - even if that is a part of it - but it seems to be missing that togetherness they had 2 years ago. For their style you need a team of equals...
They are not what they were 2 years ago, because a certain team took 2 of their best players. Last year they had Lewandowski, which was a big plus, but they had an injury crisis. Even then with English Second Division standard players like Jojic and Friedrich they took Madrid as close as anyone, because of the quality of their top players. Bender and Gundogan have already shown they will recover their top form. If they put a line up with Sokratis, Hummels, Bender, Gundogan and Reus they will give anyone a game. We will see how things go.

Time will tell, but I reckon Madrid or Dortmund will win it, with City have a run to final/semi.

Twitter. And sounds plausible. You have to see that there is 3 spanish teams (who probably will be set on 2 different dates - same with the Germans) and 2 German teams in pot 1 - and 2 English teams and two German teams in pot 2. As the English and the German cannot any of their own nation.

It is influenced in addition as Bayern and City, Chelsea and Schalke, Arsenal and Dortmund have been in one group. That is why the chance for Leverkusen to get Chelsea is the highest...

Cool, thanks for sharing and the info!

Maybe it is sometimes better to explain that before... You know... the agenda thing... ;)

Re: CL Round of 16

Are people aware that Dortmund are hovering above the relegation spots in the Bundesliga? Don't let the fact they finished top of their group fool you.

Anyway, I think the fact that there are two German teams in our pot actually could be beneficial. Shalke and Leverkusen only have five potential opponents, three of which are Atletico, Barca, and Real. Surely at least one of the big Spanish teams will end up facing one of those German sides, and give us an even better chance of hopefully a Dortmund or Monaco clash. I'm not into the whole "we need to dodge the best teams!" thing, like others on here, but after enduring three seasons in this comp and having Real, Bayern (twice), Ajax, Napoli, Roma, and Dortmund (when they were much better) in our groups and then Barca the one time we got through, surely we've earnt an easy tie this time around.

Order of preference:

Dortmund
Monaco
Porto
Atletico
Real
Barca

I put Real above Barca not because I think Barca are better, but because I think we have more of a similar style to Real and could end up cancelling them out. When we played them in the past we gave them two very good games.
