What hotels are people staying in in Barcelona? Looking for one with pool/bars near by and just a general positive vibe.

Hotel Princess Sofia is walking distance from the ground.

Pool/bar/biergarten

I stayed there before the friendly in 2009.
What's it like generally? Lots of people walking around? Anything good within walking distance?

The main drinking area is Los Ramblas, but it’s frequented by dozens of pickpockets. who use all sorts of distraction techniques. Be on your guard. as loads of City fans got done last time.
Los Ramblas leads to the harbour and it’s all very picturesque, as is the cathedral and the Olympic village (Bus Tour)

There isn’t actually that much around the Nou Camp, but the ground tour is worth the money if you’re there the day before.

Las Ramblas is a horrible tourist trap. All the bars on there were full of City and the big Square at the bottom of it totally taken over.

The nicest place we drank was the area called "El Born", a five minute walk from there but very beautiful, historic and cosmopolitan.

We also had a drink the afternoon of the game in a little, functional dump of a bar next to the away turnstiles.

The square at the bottom of Las Ram was a great sun trap and full of blues but that area is pricey.

If your on a budget get some cans from the Offy and head into the enclosed square halfway down Las Ram....can't remember it's name but it has a bar with a weird name Colon/fanny or something in it.

Someone will remember the name of the square it was full of blues on the day.

Blue Square rings a bell

Gothic quarter is a nice place to go on a walk.
Most blues will be around Las Ramblas.

There are loads of pickpockets, but just be sensible and keep an eye on your mates and we'll all be fine.

The last time I went it was May so it was pretty warm, what's the weather going to be like in March?

Was quite cool last year, I had my coat on but others had t shirts on - probably hot in the sun but cool if you're in the shade

We're in an apartment close to placa reial so will probably check in then grab a few cans and drink there again

In March the temp in the day may be between 12-18 deg.
At night a lot cooler but if there are no northerly winds , it will be pleasant.
At times the temp has been higher but as well you could get a bit of cold snap.
Generally if it is sunny you will be ok.March is a changeable month so bring a few layers and a coat.

Oh and beer tokens.

Cracking hotel but a long way out from the bars beach and Marina area, I stayed there last year twice but this time booked at the eurostars grand marina which is close to it all

Not bad normally around 18-20 degrees and evenings a bit chilly
