That’s because the system changed last year. A team in pot 4 has the same standard of opponents as a team in pot 1 now whereas previously , if you were in pot 1 in the old system you had an advantage because you couldn’t draw anyone else in the pot.

That said it does look like Spurs have a lucky draw despite that.

Opta usually produce a table by the weekend to show which teams have the hardest and easiest draws. They did it last year and our draw was in the middle(ish). There wasn’t the big differences that the old system had though as the Swiss system is designed to balance everyone’s fixtures so they all have the same standard of opponents. Which is why it’s difficult now for most to figure out who has an easy draw and who has a hard draw.
