CL QF Draw - City V Spurs ===== SF V Ajax (If we get there)

What if we beat them? It would be 50 50
Barca are IMO by far the most difficult side to face, and they couldn’t make it any harder for us than drawing Barca. If they let Larhoz be the ref it would be pretty much impossible to progress

At this stage of the season a draw isn’t only affecting that competition but in our case two others too ... who we get and when we play home or away would all tie into our league campaign at a very crucial time ... Friday is this draw, then Saturday we have another QF to take care of and should we get through that on Sunday would be yet another draw ... so both of these draws would determine how far we go in not only that particular competition but other two as well ... crunch time ... so I want the easiest team on Friday and (should we beat Swansea on Saturday) easiest one again on Sunday please ... all wishing for anything else is just a stupid daydream that can very easily turn into nightmare!

Nice problem to have. Especially with one already in the bag

Spurs v United
Barca v Liverpool
Juventus v Ajax
City v Porto.

If Carlsberg did Champions League draws...

I think I'd take Ajax.

I know the conventional wisdom is to hope for the easiest draw, but your set of fixtures would probably mean we go straight into a semi-final with Barca or Juventus as the first big european game of the season. They'll have had a few big, big ties to get up to the level needed and to quell the nerves, while we'll be caught cold. Juventus will be miles better in the quarter-finals after getting past Atletico, Liverpool had their best game in months on Wednesday.

Coasting through the tournament with the easiest draws is not the best way to win IMO, you need to grow as a team through being pushed a bit. Ajax are good enough that we'll have to be at our best to beat them, they have some of that old-school European history, it's a good tie to warm you up for beating a giant.

for what it's worth, my son just sent me a 'leaked' copy of the draw showing us playing Barca, liverpool v ajax, rags v spuds, juve v Porto. Better not turn out like that!

I feel like this is the year City are really going to go for it. I'd always prefer the PL but seeing them win the biggest match in club football would be a great experience. Beating Barcelona would make it even more special.

Winning the PL this season is much more important than the CL! the CL is a cash machine of UEFA’s so fick them!
