CL Quarter Final Draw - Liverpool A Apr 4th - H Apr 10th

Play strongest team starting at Everton and ending at Spurs/Wembley, after the players had a week in the Abu Dhabi sunshine and international friendlies. We only have to rotate what is really necessary and be fortunate with injuries.

And we certainly should NOT play a weaker team vs rags. Liverpool play their derby as well and a day after us.

Stop shitting yourself. 5-0 at home, 3-4 away and we are through to the semis. We have the opportunity to knock dippers out of the CL and win the PL in the space of a few days. What more do we want ...!

Everything documented by Amazon for the world to enjoy?

As one who threw teddy out of cot when Pep did it against them in the League Cup last season I know where you are coming from.

This time its different, if we have been to Anfield and killed the tie...which would probably mean having won by 3 or more goals then throw the kitchen sink at the rag twats.

In the more likely scenario that there is much to do in the second leg then this derby has to take second place. Even if it means we get beat by them as per League Cup tie. As others have said the League is won, finished, would be excellent to clinch it against the scum but progressing in the Champions League is far more important for the team and the club. This is a chance to prove that this team is on course for being on the level of Peps Barca team and at least now as good as his Bayern side. Not forgetting that Peps Barca team faced with a run of fixtures similar would and did come through time after time. Exciting few weeks ahead where we will get and idea how good our team is.
Do you not think United may play second gear to ensure we're fresh for Liverpool, what with the 5 European cups banter. Team against United will surely reflect first leg score.

There's a fucking load of Scousers claiming online that they were the best side in the 5-0, until Mane baiscally fractured Ederson's skull.

Apparently it could have been at least 3-1 before the sending off too.

I see Klopp is complaining about their match v Everton being moved to 12:30 on saturday - not enough recovery time from playing us - would he rather play Sunday and then play us on Tuesday? Strange beasts these Managers ...

That'll do nicely we are better than Liverpool and can go through.

Makes me laugh that the cartel 3 of Barca, Madrid and Munich avoid each other what a surprise.

Shame the derby is in the middle as the rags will be trying to break our players legs which won't be good.

Decent draw though let's get them beat.

Not a chance it will be Uniteds big chance to have something to say for the next few months. Its not even as though Liverpool would be favourites to win the competition if they beat us.

We have to prioritise the Dippers games and depending on the result of the first leg and any knocks picked up will determine how much tinkering is to be done. I am not talking about wholesale changes for the rags match and we should have enough in the squad to make sure we come through what is a good test.

its not a dilemma at all. you dont rest players against your rival and for the league title

Oh yes you do! If needed, that is exactly what you are going to do. I repeat, if needed, for those who need it -which is Guardiola's call.

You follow objectives, and you set your priorities accordingly. The league title is already won, I do not give a fuck (neither does History...) when City will win it mathematically. But we're talking about a CL QF here. You fuck up there, you won't be able to fix it. The opportunity is lost permanently, you'll have to wait for next season again...

These players have worked their asses off to achieve such an advantage. Some of them may need protection, we'll see. Obviously the result of the 1st leg is expected to play a major role in this, the injury status of the squad, individual form etc. What I mean is that, in any case, this is a luxury City can afford, while Liverpool cannot. Their CL football next season is a question mark at the moment, with Chelsea 4 points behind, and 8 matches to go. So they are obliged to give everything on both competitions -another factor that could have an influence in the matches between us...

Just checked recent "Istree" and it appears we have already played this (ugly) mob home and away this season.

The aggregate score was 8-4 with us scoring three away goals...

Let the Candle Lighters think they are better than us, I don't care.

I just look at the current table which reinforces what I think.

This will be an adrenaline pumping tie. Already nervous but extremely pumped. Atmosphere should be intense in both legs. Come on City!!!!

Looking at it realistically, isn’t life good at the moment. One cup already in the bag, nailed on to be prem champions, with a good chance that is confirmed against rags! Playing dippers in quarter final of CL with away game first, hey what’s not to love, bring it on I say ;-)

Surely their game will move. If it was us we would be quite rightly fuming having to play Sunday then Tuesday.

Their game is now 12.30 on Saturday and the scousers are moaning that we have more recovery time for our derby because we play at 5.30 than they do totally ignoring the fact that they have more recovery time for the second leg...

Klopp syas it has, and is annoyed at only having until Sat lunchtime after the first leg

They do forget the Jesus and Stones chances before the sending off. Only ever look at their own. They’re by far the most hateable fan base in England.
