CL R16 - Real Madrid - (A) 26/02 - (H) 17/03

Well given the current situation where it looks like we will have to concentrate on the cups this season a failure to get into the quarter finals would be very bad.
I dont fancy us against Real and Atletico. They have serious knockout stage experience of getting really far in it.

Lyon, Dortmund would be able to hurt us but we would be clear favourites before the tie of course we were vs Monaco 3 years ago too.
Napoli is a dark horse now, Gattuso coming in, there was bit of chaos there recently not sure if its solved with Ancelotti gone, as some payers want to leave maybe, allso they are shit in Seria A so far, they are not in top4 currently, they are the hardest to say how strong they are really, I mean only them were able to beat Liverpool this season.

Thing is no easy draws, we were quite lucky with Basel and Schalke last two seasons for the 1/16 round and they were one or two level below the current possible opponents.

Even Carabao, when we beat Oxford after that the semifinal will be like City, Leicester, United and Liverpool. Hell of a two game semi for us whoever we get there. We need to sort our defending otherwise we are in for a shock.
Let's hope Villa do us all a favour.

Real or Atletico would be fun, but I hope for Dortmund or Lyon. The Madrids could really hurt us. On the other hand, it’s UCL and we have to be able to beat them all.

You can see the importance here of winning the Group.

Chelsea and Spurs could face 5 sides including PSG, Juve or Barcelona, whilst Real Madrid will play Bayern, City, Juve, Liverpool or Leipzig.

City are the bookies favourite but I think Barcelona or PSG should be.

I was watching Bayern v Spurs then got bored with it and watched the goals show. Bruges created a lot of chances against Real madrid.

If we lose, so be it.

Don't agree with this sentiment. We should hope for easier draws as each win is worth £2m (that could be euros to be fair) and progressing to the next round will earn millions. If we go out in the round of 16, and Liverpool for example get to the semi's, they'll probably bank an extra £20m than us from the competition. That could be the difference between signing a Van Dyke over us.
