CL R16 - Real Madrid - (A) 26/02 - (H) 17/03

It's going to be very tough this. That valverde kid seems to have had a big impact. I haven't watched much of him, madridfan123 is he good?

I didnt mean to be hostile or offensive, I hope for two great games with no contentious decisions so we can say the best team deserved to win. All I meant was giving my opinion on the best way I think you can win this tie, teams sitting back and being defensive, then hitting us quickly on transitions has been an issue for a while and you have lots of speed so I see that as your best way I see you winning. This is a battle between two great managers. Guardiola is very methodical and will do a lot in the preparation for this game, but the thing with Zidane is that he’s very unpredictable, you can plan for one thing then he comes up with a different plan for a game which is why managers have found it so hard to outtactic him and why Zidane won 3 champions leagues in a row

Real Madrid are not scoring as many goals as they used to, but they do not concede many goals. City by then will hopefully have Laporte back, and with that the one major weakness in City's team will be plugged but he will need game time.

It looks like a very well-matched fixture.
Mate, Laporte will be a good reintroduction but Walker, Stones and Mendy have a mistake a game in them, Walker less so lately but at the highest level you get punished. I hope Zinchenko gets the nod ahead of Mendy who for me unfortunately has become a waste of £50m + through injuries and errors.

But you still lost to a very poor Man Utd side , you aren’t going to smash us, neither team will smash each other, it will be two close games. No team ever smashes Zidane’s teams, who has never been knocked out of a champions league two legged game. I’m not worried about Laporte, but Sane is a dangerous player
If you are not worried about Laporte I suggest you haven’t seen much of him, we did get beat by the rags but we avenged that last week at their place with a dominant display. As I said we are just getting into our stride with two key players to return to the squad and we have a nice little 2 weeks break before we warm up against Leicester ahead of knocking you out. The fact the second leg is at our place is key.

I think you are just a glory hunter who latched onto Madrid because they were winning things, your English team is probably the Rags or Dippers. I reckon the only connection you have to Spain is you once went to a Tapas bar.

BTW, how’s the FFP going? Spending €250m in the summer hasn’t made you the dominant team in Spain has it? Up the Barca and Catalonia forever.

Is he good? That’s got to be the understatement of the year, he’s an absolute machine. Even Simeone gave him credit. He’s similar to Arturo Vidal and Kante , he’s so quick(the quickest player in la liga this season according to statistics), a pressing machine who has lots of intensity we haven’t lost a single game in which he has played in this season, Gueye from PSG , who has lots of energy himself, had to be taken off at half time at the Bernabeu because he couldn’t cope with Fede’s energy, intensity and he made Frenkie De Jong look like an amateur at the camp nou. The only downside to him is that because he can be too aggressive and energetic sometimes, he’s like a kid with adhd

Going to be a tough game, but this game should we win over the 2 legs, is what we need in terms of believing we can win it this season.

One thing for sure is that it is going to be a cracker

why do you have to be so hostile? You come across childish. And a lot of those signings were on young players for the future which we will see the benefits from in a few years and dominate la liga for years to come
Laporte is a good defender but he’s nothing to worry about particularly if I’m honest, the RM players played against him a lot in la liga and he struggled with Benzema’s movement, speed and strength

I don't agree with you, I think he is pivotal to the way we play, it was always said by Pep it would take him quite a while to get back to what he was following serious injury but i believe we are starting to see his pace and touch returning, his first time passing of late has been top quality

I’m not hostile, just calling out a plastic Madrid fan, you’ve not said why you support them or where you live or who your English team is. I’m guessing you are not Spanish, just be up front.

Ive been nothing short of respectful to your team, I think you have a fantastic team and fantastic manager but we have a fantastic team and fantastic manager too, I wouldn’t replace Zizou for another one in the world and I’m sure that’s the same with you and pep . All I said was the best way I think you can win the tie , it’s not like I’ve dismissed you. Either fan base saying their team will smash the other are living in a delusional world, mark my words this will be a very close tie

is this Valverde the guy who got credit from Zidane and Simione for making the professional foul in the last minutes? Says a lot about Spanish football.
I have an intense dislike for the club and they way they are treated in Spain and by Uefa. It seems they can do no wrong and everything seems geared to them.
In the past when having a tough CL away leg the following week their league game is usually moved to a Friday night so hope the EPL can do the same for us,I wont be counting on it

Youre manager came from Spanish football and some of your best ever players like Yaya, David Silva, Aguero and zabaleta came from Spanish football
You’re entitled to your opinion. The professional foul by Fede was praised because it was the deciding factor that helped to allow us to eventually win the game. And you’re incorrect regarding the Friday night fixtures, our fixtures are almost always on Saturdays or Sundays before and after champions league games, you’re thinking of other leagues like serie a or Ligue 1

Yep, there’s a lot to despise Madrid for, flogging the training ground and avoiding FFP penalties but still using the facility, the brutality of the Madrid Police to away fans inside and outside the ground without any criticism from the Club. The dodgy decisions they get in La Liga and Europe and the incessant illegal tapping up of star players to force through transfers, Hazard being the latest. They’re not far behind the Dippers in terms of being despised, I suspect a good percentage of fans in Spain think the same.

I admire teams like Man City(when pellegrini was manager) and Arsenal(Wenger) in the EPL because of the great football played by those team
The football we play now under Pep is a level above Pellegrini. If you were brought up in England you will have supported an English team, why are you in denial?

I told you I liked Man City under pellegrini and Arsenal under Wenger English teams wise because of the great football
I don’t like Pep, that goes without saying but I have nothing against your club personally because we are in different European leagues. I admire pellegrini because he’s a great humble man and did a great job at RM but because of circumstances it didn’t work out so I was supporting him at Man City. He did a great job at Man City, taking you to the furthest you’ve ever been in the champions league to the semi finals in 15/16

your midfield couldn’t cope with Liverpool’s high pressing whereas the Real Madrid midfield made the Liverpool midfield look like school boys.
You’re talking about two seasons ago? We beat them comfortably last season. And you played them with Salah. Let’s not rewrite history.

We’ll dominate possession in both games. Of that I’m sure.

His football was no where near Pep’s level, he did a decent job but as far as getting to the semi final he absolutely fucked that up, didn’t go for it against Madrid who were also shit over both legs. You don’t like Pep, most on here, especially those that have been to Madrid don’t like your mob, wankers of the highest order.
You’re not going to say why you support Madrid or who your English team is so we’ll leave it at that, my guess is glory hunter and a Dipper, your lack of denial speaks volumes.

I wouldn’t say you beat them comfortably shen you were behind and when you relied a goal line clearance from your defender. ok we will see, good luck
