Class City Fan

Good story. I've been saying for a while now what a class club we are turning into. Everything seems to have been lifted a few notches. I went to Villa Park yesterday which is one of our iconic stadiums having held many a FA Cup semi final. The ticket I had said "restricted view" and overall the facilities and stadium was no where near the standard of Eastlands. How quickly we take things for granted.

Very true. Iconic stadium but many flaws, Eastlands is far better.

Me and my brother were planning on going to the rearranged spurs game last year, it was round the time of the ash cloud shit. Got down to the airport in Belfast and flights cancelled nightmare, anyway this guy who we had never seen in our lives wanders over and had seen my brothers city top and asks if we were going to the game. Took us two with him on the boat to stranraer and drove down to Manchester before we even put our hands in our pocket to pay for the ferry. Got to Manchester he went and checked into his hotel and told us to call back with the money, which is some trust to put in a couple of people just cause they are wearing a city top. After the money was handed over we went our separate ways, he had his son with him and were in different part of the ground, we flew home the next day while he drove back. Never forget the guy for going so much out of his way just to help a couple of fellow blues get to a game so thanks tommy johnson if your on this board true gent. There seems to be a good few genuine good guy blues out there

Alright, it hasn't been a great weekend but I thought I'd pass along a nice story anyway.

I live in the US and have only ever met two City fans anywhere near here but I ran into one today at the grocery store. We were at the checkout line and I was wearing my brand new City hat I just got this week, he was wearing one too (his was a different style). It turned out his wife is a Manc whose family has season tickets, he told me he has a ton of hats so he took his off and just gave it to me.

This was greatly appreciated as there isn't anywhere even remotely close to buy any City items. Just goes to show you, you support a good team with good fans and it pays off.

you checked your wallet mate?

I went over last year and met up with the good folk at the Hazel Grove Supporters club. By the end of the night I took home 'blue moon' sunglasses's and a 'this is our city' t-shirt from the guys. Didn't ask for anything they were generous and knew how to make us welcome. Best supporters in the world.

On way back from Lokeren flew to Stanstead, my cousin was working in Portsmouth and going straight there. I was not looking forward to a long train journey rough as fuck. As was getting baggage got talkin to a couple who lived in Walkden, gave me a lift to my door and wouldnt take a penny off me. Best Fans is correct !
