Classic British cars

About to pull the trigger on another XK8. Won't take less than 7k but it looks in very good nick.

Also just found a 71 dodge ram. It's not for sale yet but I'm working on the bloke!
Love the XK8, had one from new, 20 odd years ago, not had one for about 15 years, looking again, what are the things to look out for ? Timing belts etc ?

It's a later model so Jaguar updated a lot of the stuff like tensioners. Floor pan and wheel arches are the main problem to check. This one drives well, no wallowing etc etc, gearbox is fine, 2 fobs and keys, Jaguar approved tires etc etc. Interior is lovely. I think hes also done the cooling system. The bloke used to restore classic cars for a living so he knows what is what.

Probably dog shit mechanically, but still a beaut to look at.

Cars are not a big thing for me but recently i saw a Aston Martin 177 what a thing of beauty.

They updated it in 2000 but in 2003 they did another update, interior and a few bits. So late 2003 versions onwards. 4 litre is fine, though there are 4.2L non supercharged ones which are a bit more expensive.

Also depends on your usage/ soft top or not/ etc etc.

The one I'm discussion about is a 2003 coupe. With bits done/ checked etc etc. Will use it as a daily runner, much like others I've had. Never had a problem apart from the battery weirdly.

Hope this helps.

Might go for the dodge pick up though, depends on how it runs/ sounds. Not fussed on the looks as it's supposed to be a bit knackered looking.
