I'll never forget buying a PS1 on the day it come out and turning it on. I nearly come in my pants and that was just seeing the Sony symbol !!! Then I played Ridge racer and i thought I had a arcade machine in my bedroom. After Ps1 I have never owned another playstation !!!! Reverted to Xboxes .

You've missed out mate. Never had Xbox or Gamecube, all 3 PlayStations and an old Nintendo from the early 90s, I think that's older than me actually???

Resident Evil 1
For me the original game that actully made your arse twitch, Doom did a pretty good job before it with it's darkened rooms and scary arsed monsters but Resident Evil took it to a different level.

Zombies that just wouldn't die(again), rabid Dobermans jumping through windows, hell bent on making you a pedigree chum and fucked up mutant creatures created in only the sickest of minds, all designed to scare the bejebus out of yer.

This added with the fact that you had limited weapons (usually only a crappy pistol) and worse was the amount of bullets, made for a pretty intense game, those safe haven rooms actully felt like that, I closed the door behind me and took a sigh of relief, the nightmare was over, well untill I had to leave again.

Sometimes I just contemplated never leaving the room again and just rolling up in the foetal postion under the bed and hoping a good sleep would make it all go away, of course I was wrong.

All this added with a great story full of twists and turns and characters with whom you didn't know whether to trust or not made for a truely awesome game.

Metal Gear Solid 1
Simply a great story with awesome characters and dialogue, it actully felt at times as if you were part of a live action movie.

Aswell as the great story and characters it brought a host of new ideas to the table, the main one being the stealth aspect, you actully had to plan your attack in most cases, as going in all guns blazing usually mean't a quick and painful death.

Another of my all time favourites.

Tekken
The king of fighters and I played mainly the leopard headed King but in the end was familiar with all the different characters fighting styles, it was his combination bone breakers that were so so satisfying and rewarding, having to take time to learn them and more importantly to actully pull them of in combat, can remember some of them being 15-20 button combinations.

Not been bested yet.

And thats just 3 games of one console, no Goldeneye, no Zeldas I could go on for days if I wanted or could be arsed, really do love my gaming.

Geek!

Edit: Nearly forgot, Die hard game based on the movie triology, 3 different styles of game for the price of one, each one was cracking in itself.

Better stop before I start thinking about any more.

The spiders dropping from the ceiling, and the little spiders that came out of the big spiders when they were dead, along with the dogs through the window were the scariest bits for me.
