Classic reggae tunes

Long ago, in the 80's ? UB40 did a very bland version of Kingston Town.

The original was done by Lord Protector (you've got to love those names ) well worth a listen.

Totally different but Two Sevens Clash buy Culture. I came across this when listening this morning to a Clash compilation dubbed by Dave Mendez (I've no idea but it's great)

I can't post vids on this phone, one day I'll get a new one

I have often championed Two Sevens Clash on here...great album. Led me into Black Uhuru....me give dem a go...

He's done many live recordings of Many Rivers to Cross but, imo, thst is his finest. If it doesn't move you, you are dead.

That performance would be from when he was in his early/mid 60s ? He got to a point where he still had the fire but it was combined with that elder vibe of having seen so much of life and it was just an amazing combination.

You mean the “Lord Creator” ? :) He was out of hospital and down on his luck but UB 40 copied it and payed him the royalties.
