All you need to do is watch the first 2 minutes of this video to see why he "fits" Pep's system....Would be sad to see Hart go(if rumours are true) but Bravo seems a good option and even at 33, we'd get 3 good years from him.....

Stegen's release clause is almost £70m though, so that's quite a hike up from £17m. Easier said than done to just "pay the extra" for him.
17 mil for 2 seasons is still more expensive then 70mil for 11 seasons thats both keepers playing with us until they are 35. Plus bravos release is around 35 mil but they will do business for less I think the same will happen should we move for ter stegen. I cant see barca holding out for ter stegens and keeping an unhappy player, if we wait to January one of their goslkeepers fee will have dropped dramatically if ter stegen starts bravo is a 33 year old back up, if bravo starts ter stegen is a back up who has made it clear he isnt happy on the bench.

I personally believe it'll be Caballero who makes way. Pep seems to think Joe will come good with time.

Just to be clear, its not that I dont rate bravo I know he is a very good keeper, what im against is signing short term solutions for big money. In two or three years times bravo will need replaced and we will be hoping rulli is the answer when his distribution last season was closer to harts then bravos.

based on that hes not going to be good for my heart !

Mate, £17mil is not big money in this day and age. 3 years of Bravo and then Rulli or whoever to come in would be fine.

Agreed. But needs must - if we cannot get TS (b/c Barca just won' trade and will promise TS whatever he wants so that he'll stay even if we were willing to meet his release clause), then it's Bravo. And I think that this is where we are at.

or Gunn, or any young, emerging keeper who fits the bill. Don't understand why we're worrying about who we'll have in 3 years time, there will be options. Let's just get the best we can have now.

Bravo is better than Ter-Stegen and at £50mil less it's a no-brainer. Bravo comes in, is Pep's keeper during his time here, then they potentially depart at the around the same time depending where Bravo is at. Why spend £67mil on a keeper who may not fit our next managers philosophy? I mean we could always loan him out with option to buy i guess.

Ter Stegen is not worth anything like 70 million, he's good with his feet but overall he's not that great of a keeper. 70 million should get you neur.

That would only happen if Joe is content to be 2nd choice at the outset
I think he'll be content with challenging for his place.

Thinking about it, it is sort of strange that managers are so obsessed with having two good players in every position but only allow the sub goalkeeper to play a handful of games - maybe this next era of football will see that that perspective changes.

It's alright comparing Ter Stegen over 11 years but what if he has a bad injury during them years

I would prefer Ter Stegen but can understand us being in for Bravo

Either way we'll have a keeper who can play Peps way

I think Joe, needing to maintain his England spot, would not like too many games on the bench. If we bring someone in of the calibre being discussed, that's exactly where he will start out IMO. There appears too much noise on here and the media to suggest an incoming keeper is inevitable. We will just have to see what the fall out of that will be.

We may have been priotising the Champs league qualifier and we will play Hart on Tuesday

Can see this being the case through the season, one keeper for league one for Europe

The only reason we're contemplating a trade is that Joe and Willy are currently unable to play in the style Pep demands. If we trade for a keeper that fits Pep's style, I cannot see Joe or Willy starting any games outside of maybe League Cup ties.

Fair enough but with the prices continuing to get crazier and crazier who knows how much bravos replacement will cost. But either its a great thing to be discussing which world class keeper will we sign I mind trying to convince my rags mates trabelsi was going to tear up the league. Great times to be a blue.
