Really hope I don’t jinx it for them, but Barnsley are getting terribly close to turning their season around and escaping the drop. Currently leading Bristol City and slowly reeling in Reading, whom they meet at Oakwell on April 2nd. Gomes has been a mainstay in recent weeks.

Barnsley still 8 points adrift of Reading but with only 18 points to play for before the season ends. Gomes now has 2,439 minutes of football under his belt this season, which is quite good going straight into the Championship.
