However, the 26-year-old has since confessed his desire to one day return back home to his roots, and turn out for the French capital club.

"I'm not going to hide it. Like I've said, Paris is the club of my heart," Clichy told Surface magazine.

"To say that I want to play for PSG is another thing, but as they say: football goes very quickly, and we don't don't know what the future holds for us.

"It's certain that the PSG kit is magical. I'd like to discover my own country's league."

Clichy has enjoyed a superb campaign for City so far this term, making 33 appearances in the league, and 44 across all competitions, establishing himself ahead of rival Aleksandar Kolarov in the pecking order.

The left-back will now be hoping for more exposure on the international set-up, with Manchester United’s Patrice Evra currently seen as France manager Laurent Blanc’s preferred choice.

What a surprise.....another city player wanting out non story close to the biggest game in our history!! Wankers.

He can go when he's 32 and slowing down if he likes...

But in his own words "To say that I want to play for PSG is another thing" - so "CLICHY WANTS OUT OF CITY FOLLOWING YAYA! CITY IN CRISIS!" it is then.

No chance he will leave us anytime soon. Can see him playing for us the next 5 years atleast.

Then maybe end his career in french. He is finally playing in a team competing for trophies etc....looked very excited about joining City and still does.

We all know joe is a mercenary who only signed for the money Oh wait

lol, yep a man who left a team he liked a lot so he could realise his own wishes to be a champion is gonna fuck it right of again hehe.

He may go for the last couple of seasons he has left in him but defo not any time soon.

I can't believe i replied to something of goal.com :|

We should have a thread devoted to players who want to go back to their old town clubs seems Yaya back to Barca and Clichy to PSG, holds breath waiting for Micah wanting to go back to Oldham. They have contracts, if they honour those contracts and play well for us, if at the end they want to leave they can go with my blessing.

Goal.com is just comical....first Yaya now Clichy

Has that website been hacked by someone from the swamp!!!

I wish people would stop starting threads with info gained from shit sites such as Goal.com.

You can block these sites on newsnow you know by hiding the publication.

Goal.com might as well be called "takingthepiss.com"
