@Didsbury Dave I was so annoyed yesterday when I read the clubs statement that I had to e mail them to demand an explanation. Today I got this reply:
Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for your email, we took the decision based on a number of factors,
1. There will be no catering facilities at Wembley Stadium. This will not be an issue to those who qualify for a ticket as they already have their own flask, and butties..... and tartan card rug.
2. Sky were worried about crowd noise, specifically swearing. We have explained the worst the microphones will pick up is 'get them gloves off you big girls blouse, you never saw Ken Barnes wearing them'
3. We do not want, for their own safety, fans all leaving at the same time, we are confident this will not be an issue with those fortunate enough to secure a ticket. From studies 20% will leave with ten minutes remaining saying 'Buger this I'm going for mi bus, 40% will leave at full time and the rest will stay in their seats waiting for the second half.
We hope this explains our reasons if not who cares, I support United so do one.
