The first one is essentially what I requested several pages back. On seeing it mocked up it does look rather old fashioned: the maroon unfortunately doesn't really work.The second is probably the stronger design but please go with 1894 not 1880. What appears obvious is that whatever we go with initially won't find favour with many. I guess we'll all get used to whatever. The designs you have shown being both a mixture of old (ship & rivers) and new (eagle) probably tick enough of the boxes and give the club the circular badge that they crave.
why is it frightening,that some people dont agree with you ,? why do you think YOU speak for every one, surely your statement is the reason other peoples opinion should be respected as in your own word" MANY ",
The more I think of this, the more I 'm of the opinion that we should ditch the previous (and current) designs and come up with something all together different.
We should pick something Manchester is known for on a global basis and not something from our past. Seriously having a red rose, for example is just ridiculous. Some have suggested having 93.20 on it for God's sake, these people shouldn't be able to have an opinion.
The only designs I've liked are GeekinGavs, and only because they look good and not because of any historic meaning.

Seriously I don't care either way about the eagle or the rivers or most of the other stuff that's been discussed. We probably should keep the ship since its always been there. As long as we ditch the ridiculous stars and don't add the equally ridiculous rose I'll be happy. We don't want anything on the badge that can lend itself to a piss take.
