Club Badge (merged)

I know mate. But why would they need the new badge design now as some have said? even if we send it to them in March they will have months to sew the badges to the shirts

Well they need to sew the badges on in the sweatshops and depends how long the cargo ships take from the Orient to here.

I've got a mate who designs the kit for one of the big clubs in the PL, he told me if we have an woven badge (like we have now, as opposed to the embroidered badge we had under Umbro) then the final design would have to be with the manufacturers by the end of November / beginning of December. I couldn't tell you why they couldn't sew it on afterwards, I'm just passing on info.

if thats the case then they probably designed the badge a while ago. if true was there any point in the consultation period.

They could have designed a few options based on the numerous threads over the years, and then selected the one which contained the most popular elements from the consultation. Or we could just be sticking with the eagle for next season.

It seems like too stange a coincidence that the consultation ended in the second week of November and final designs have to be with manufacturers 2 weeks later though? God knows.

yea does seem strange. They could create the design quite quickly, the effort comes i nthe research behind the badge, which would have taken all year and longer imo. if it was all done in the past 2 months then i worry we are going to end up with a piece of crap haha

Yeh I agree. They know all about the history and the elements because they've done their research prior to opening the consultation. The fact the only shapes to choose from were the circle or the eagle definitely points towards either sticking with what we have or going back to a circle, so I'm sure any draft designs will be of a circular badge.

It's definitely plausible that the final design has been decided upon now. As I said in my earlier post though, it's difficult timing for the club choosing when to publicise the design. They won't want it getting leaked by a worker in the factory, but they probably don't want to affect retail sales of the existing badge before xmas. It's a tricky one.

If all the rumours are true then our home kit is likely to be the Nike Euro 16 template which is also meant to be being trailed as the PSG 3rd kit. If that's true then I'd take it in sky blue. The scum is allegedly the Adidas Euro 16 template and very similar to Denmarks, in which case it's just a red and red Blackburn Rovers kit... Almost feel sorry for them.

I know you said almost but get a grip man. ;)
