Club Badge (merged)

tbh i dont mind the rose being on it, its on the coat of arms and if you look around manchester, rylands library, cathedral its on lots of different things. not sure how it would work in the design though

I don't see why they didn't mock up a handful and have fans give their opinion on them in the same manner they asked for our input in the first place.

Because what is to be released on Boxing Day was effectively designed and selected possibly months before the consultation process even began maybe!

Perhaps the process was just a gimmick to validate the change!

You now, rather like a Mugabe election type thing!

;-)

sorry for the shit photoshop, but this is what i would have or something similar. maybe the colours need changing a bit.

Unfortunately the people who did the Melbourne badge are City's in house design team. The same team who came up with the appalling "Cityzens" logo.

World renowned graphic artist Rafael Esquer did the NYCFC badge. He's interested in City and he was very keen to be involved in this project but the club passed.

My worst fear was that the club were going to look at the results of the questionnaire and squeeze the 4 or 5 most popular symbols in to a badge. That's not good design, that's a fudge.

The final design is far more important than the individual elements. If we end up with a cluttered mess like Melbourne's then I hope blues are going to stand up to the club like Everton fans did.

We shouldn't have our identity trampled on by a cheap second rate designer just because he's employed by the club.

Esquer shat on that 'Shield core design' we like though ... saying "Manchester City deserve something more spectacular" ... his opinion, fair enough. But it's the 'Designer vs City fan' problem, who knows best?

Think ya might be on the right track there!

only logical thing i can be arsed thinking about at this late stage. not saying i like it. my personal opinion is the rose shouldn't be there, but i'm in the gerneration where we've never been in Lancashire, so i dont associate 'My City' to it.
