Club Badge (merged)

I think it would be short sighted bringing it back. We are looking to expand the stadium (eventually) to 75-80,000. That will mean expanding our supporter base into places like Yorkshire. The red rose, unless it's meant to be the English rose, could alienate potential fans the other side of the Pennines.
Your giving me nightmares wild jcl's with selfie sticks Yorkshire men in wellies full of sheep gizz think I'll sell my season TICKET

All the more reason for us to change it back mate ;-)

Haha fair point!

As a United fan what's your honest views on the 3 Stars and Red Rose? I'd be genuinely interested.

I was never actually aware of the red rose, but the stars are interesting. I know a lot use it to beat City with, but i mean wasn't the badge redesigned in the late 90s? No one would have accused the club of misleading anyone back then given where they were. I thought it was to give it a more continental look, but correct me if i'm wrong of course.

If you must bring me into this, I agree with Mr. Haircut.

Haha

LOL. Brilliant reply! All I'm saying is the Red Rose could be seen as divisive as well as lend itself to piss takes (since Manchester hasn't been part of Lancashire since 1974). We're obviously going to ditch the ridiculous 3 stars so let's have a new badge that is simple, relevant to Manchester and non controversial. Round, full name, ship, 3 rivers ticks all the boxes. Really just an update of the 1930s one is all that we require in my opinion. Also as Ian said it looks the best.

Spot on mate. It looks the best, it is most people's first choice, and it would piss the least people off.

Even those who like the eagle, I can't see any of them being fuming if we went back to that traditional classic City design.
