Club Brugge (H) - CL - Post-Match Thread

I didn't see him stay out to acknowledge our support, looked like he stropped off to me.
But I will bow to your greater knowledge on the subject.

As you are obviously a little schoolgirl.
I have no knowledge of how he felt but I ‘m not claiming to know, I ‘ll leave the childish insults to you.

I think the few times Grealish went to the middle, he looked great. Almost got an assist both times if not for the usual fluffing of chances.

Nonetheless, Cancelo keeps assisting despite being inconsistent, Jesus is oozing confidence, Gundogan still trying to get match sharp, Raz got a goal (happy for him), Rodri was solid, Bernardo put a shift in and Cole Palmer has a future at the club. Overall, there are some issues to address but the lads got there in the end. Hopefully, the win helps their confidence for the weekend.

Can't be many grandads and grandsons to have played for city like.roger and Cole?
Easy win, need to out 90 minutes together instead of good 10 minute spells

He needs to be put in the midfield or aoemthing. So much to offer going forward, not so much defending
I have thought for a few weeks now that this is where Cancelo should play. I reckon it would be interesting to see him get a run as the right sided mid with Rodri and Silva (ie in the KDB position). This then leaves the LB spot for Zincenko or Ake. I also think Cancelo could play wide right of the front 3 and would offer us more than Mahrez or Raz here. Jesus is our #1 player here, but if he was moved to the #9 then Cancelo would be a good option out there.

Grealish looks like he is struggling at city .
We didn't need another winger ,he should of stayed at villa .

For this game, happiest for Sterling for his goal. Can see from the celebration that it meant a lot for the others for Sterling to score that because Sterling himself wasn’t that elated for the goal.

Confidence player who’s lacking some self belief or demotivated by something that happened off the field. But after he scored there were clear glimpses of the Sterling that scored 20 in a season.

I’ll play him before Grealish at this point. Grealish needs time to figure out his role in this team and he can try that out in less volatile games. I’ll start Sterling for the derby.
Sterling only on the right though. Wan bissaka has had sterling in his pocket every time.

Much better second half. Wouldn't mind a foden gabby raz front three on saturday
Sterling still shouldn't be starting regardless of him scoring tonight. Still messed up when we had a three on two, put a piss weak ball across which their defender intercepted with ease, not doing anything remotely enough to warrant starting matches

I hope Guardiola doesn't.

Over Grealish I’ll start Sterling at the right with Foden taking Grealish side. Jesus as false 9. Grealish is half baked at the moment he just does this 1v1 dance off and then pass or getting the ball nicked off his feet. Not going to work against the average back four like Bailly or Bissaka.

Sterling is more nimble in getting the ball through by his feints. Grealish hardly ever feints his way through.

First half our second balls were terrible at times and we lost our heads after the equaliser for a bit.

Overall though a well deserved win

1st half we were average, moved the ball far too slowly and looked lethargic. Second half a lot better, moved the ball quicker and the movement was better. Bernardo was excellent tonight as was Cancelo offensively. I thought Sterling had a good cameo tonight albeit the game was a bit stretched.
