The seven City YouTube Heroes are to be invited to an exclusive VIP dinner in the Chairman’s Lounge at the Etihad Stadium, joined by a host of former City VIPs on the eve of Manchester City’s first Premier League fixture in defence of the title.

They will then be invited to attend Manchester City’s match against Southampton on August 19th as the Club’s guests of honour

Then have their season tickets confiscated and banned for running on the pitch.

Haha....that did cross my mind

I don't really understand how the clips of the fans watching on TV (they could be anywhere) are described as "heroes".

The only one that made any sense was the old chap who has been watching City for 75 years and used to be 6'2" with curly hair ..... he is a hero and was at the game.

Watching it on TV / filming yourself celebrating / sticking it on YouTube screams armchair fan to me ... not a hero.

Not sure which fans they're after in some of those clips, I know the girl at the end in clip 6 not sure if they are after getting touch with her or not as they feature a family sat at home on it as well !

Precisely.

I don't get the 'hero' thing at all. Particularly as the club had specifically asked fans beforehand NOT to run on to the pitch and then announced over the PA that if it wasn't cleared there would be no trophy presentation.

They weren't heroes to the thousands of fans who at the time were shouting at them to get off the pitch.
