Club Shop

When you go to the City Shop at the ground now, is there anywhere to park for people with a walking stick but whose Blue Badge, although granted, hasn't arrived yet?
I can't walk up Joe Mercer Way and wondered if there was anywhere closer and on the flat!!??

My son is over from Canada for a few days for his father's (my ex-husband) funeral and he has a shirt he wants to return/exchange.
Thank you. (it's really exciting, although of course sad, to see him for the first time in nearly 5 years. FaceTime/Zoom calls are not the same.)

Not sure if there is EB.

Be amazing for you to see your lad after so long though so made up for you :)

Maybe drive in together park in Blue car park then send him in on his own whilst you chill in the car?

Thank you @Stoned Rose it is wonderful. I spent all day with him yesterday at my daughter's (I don't have a bed for him unfortunately) and I will be spending tomorrow with him as well. The funeral is today in York and then he goes back on Wednesday.

That was my thought as well, it was just that I was hoping to buy Christmas presents for him to take back to his daughters and wife as they are mad City fans. Ah well, if there isn't anywhere nearer then I shall do that. Drat that the trams are still not going all the way from Eccles. :-) With the tram it's just a case of get off, into the lift and hey presto the club shop!!
Thanks again. :-)

Noticed a lot of people wearing Paris gear around the streets or in football cages recently. Not because they’re Paris fanboys or even Messi fanboys, but because their training gear is proper cool.

City’s is like cheap tat compared to their Air Jordan training gear.

Puma need to up their game!
Puma need to be shown the door more like! They're about as cool as Primark! Why can't we throw our lot in with a decent brand like Le Coq Sportif?

Anyone else find the range in our club shop this season the worst it has ever been, just rows and rows of overpriced crap 3rd shirts, and very little in the way of variety, just been on the Leeds shop to buy something for a Leeds supporting relative for christmas and their range is 10 times better than what we have on offer. Our shop seems to be vastly overpriced, and offering nothing very innovative.

Yes. Went in on Saturday. Bar the first team shirts, it’s pretty much bland leisure gear. Nothing I’d buy. There’s a very small range of urban clothing, which isn’t very exciting. Then there’s the usual stuff like scarfs, caps and tat like mugs, etc. As a range of merchandise it’s pretty underwhelming. But I’m sure City and Puma think they know what they’re doing? But having worked in retail for most of my working life, I can tell both of them that they aren’t maximising fan spend and sales with that range of City merchandise.

Lovely stuff EB :)

Don’t know how you’re fixed for walking but there’s the option of parking a bit further away in a residential street and walking in if possible?

Options would be the streets around the Corner Shop pub or over the other side around the Edenbridge Rd part of Newton Heath. Much of these bits are signposted as residents only but I’ve gotten away with parking their for years without any mither.

I'd ring up the club and ask. They do accessible tours of the campus during the week so they must be using the little buses to help visitors get from the blue car park on non-matchdays too.

0161 444 1894 and ask/dial for the Access team or the Tours team.

Have a great time with your son.

Thank you psychic @Citizen of Legoland ... I have about 5 minutes ago sent them an email! :-)
I hope that that will help sort the 'problem'. And for those who say I am the problem I totally agree with you. Over excited Eccles Blue. :-)

Maybe park up at the squash centre as what I do when visiting the shop as damn sight near the car parks, if you don’t have any joy from the club.

Can you not enter through the main entrance (near the old merc garage) and drive around to the store?

For me you can't beat the 1972 shirt, but am I in the minority thinking Puma have knocked out some of our best kits in a while? I think this season's is destined to be an iconic kit - badge in the middle, bit of maroon, timeless. Obviously taste is personal - but the Puma ones below are all collectable imo. Would love to be able to find the last one. Next to no interest in esports - beyond what the kids make might make me watch, and wish it wasn't emblazoned on the shirt - but the paisley's mint.

Not sure he’ll be able to exchange it after 5 years Eccles! Hope he has a great visit

Once you get your badge EB , you will be able to park right next to the shop.Just show the badge at the gate to security and they will let you through

*still giggling* his wife ordered it when she was over a few weeks ago, her Dad has Alzheimer’s and was rather ill, so he’s only had it a couple of weeks.

Oh thank you @Bernard o’silver, that is great to know.

No problem EB , the only time they might not let you in is on a match day, I was turned away once even though it was around 10 in the morning!

@Bernard O’Silver thank you for your advice.
We went this morning and I thought I’d take a printout of the email with the details of the badge number and start date. I showed it to the security man on the gate and he let me through. So we were able to sort it all out and purchase some other things.
So thanks again. BlueMoon and City forever. :-)
