Very good post.city51 said:RobbieBrewer said:What I really notced about last night is how bothered the rags were about a competition that in previous years has been viewed as being way beneath them-almost an irritant,an inconvenience.
I've also never seen them so concerned about a derby before. At least not since '92.I always thought their real derby was against the Scousers?
What I saw last night was the old dismissive arrogance replaced by fear-and when people are scared, they often act in a defensive or aggresive way.
Hence the angry little Air-maxed MIB's getting a life lesson about losing when you totally expect to win- they simply aren't used too it.
..... the school bully finally getting knocked out by the kid he's picked on since primary school.
They simply never saw any of it it coming.
Karma.
We've handed them a few beatings on the pitch in the last few years so winning the derby isn't the big deal it used to be-but I just find it strange that they came with the attitude of having to "prove" themselves-as if to reassure themselves of their place in the world, rather than us.
There's no doubt that unless an event the magnitude of our takeover happens to them, they can see "THE END" written in big, bold letters.
They know that our rise is ultimately going to co-incide with their fall.
It's hurting.
good post
I was saying exactly the same to my 11 year old. That was after I had calmed him down after the trauma of seeing at arms length the United scum by the B of The Bang.
