Hopefully this thread will go down better than my stormzy lead balloon one..
what’s everyone’s thoughts on the new Coldplay album? I know they are a bit marmite, but I’m a big fan. I do quite like some of the songs on it, but there’s a lot of filler, birds tweeting and all that. I get the vibe they are going for with it, but I don’t know if it’s for me. They have this marketing habit of rebranding themselves every time they have a new album. This is very Arabian, the last one was very Indian inspired,the one before that had a bit of a chilled out dance vibe. I understand the need to reinvent themselves and keep it fresh, but not every bloody album.
My favourite Coldplay era was the first two albums when Chris Martin was still ‘normal’ and not too into changing the world.
