Cole Palmer

I liked Cole. Think he could have been a good Mahrez replacement in style and, after a while, effectiveness even.

However, if keeping him would have pushed Oscar Bobb further back in the queue, I'm all for Cole leaving. I think Cole could become a very good player, but if Bobb gets brought through right by Pep, he could be exceptional.
He scored for Norway in a friendly last night

But that’s all he would have been here mate .
I disagree, with the sale of Mahrez and the injury/poor form of Grealish early season he would have got game time, although hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Some time young players just need minutes, but as said previously, I admire his courage in backing his talent and wanting game time and ultimately a move, the easy option was to sit tight with us.

No issue with him leaving and we have received a very decent fee, but I think this is one we will look back on in time and say it was such a shame he left.

I was a fan of Palmer whilst at City, and I do still think he's a decent player.

What I can't get my head around, is the complete reach around which seems to be going on at the moment after Sundays game. Being almost heralded whilst arriving for England training, after a few decent games for Chelsea.

He's doing nothing more for Chelsea than he was doing for us last season, albeit getting more minutes.

And less than Sterling or Gordon tbf who have been in better form and have made more significant contributions to their teams.

We're a victim of our own success with players, particularly those on the fringe and young ones. Just taking last season alone Palmer has won the three biggest trophies there are to win in club football. The premier league, champions league and fa cup. He's also won that super cup thing if you count that as a major trophy. He then gets offered more playing time and increases his wages at a club that have the money to compete at the top level too. I can see why he went.
