Colin Bell and East Stand 3rd tier

EL3 305 is me and my lad - I think the third tier gets a bad press. It can sometimes be a bit quiet, and I have never had a 'funny look' when I get a bit vocal, but the view is amazing.

If you get stuck at the back its not so good, but we are quite near the front and I love the perspective you get on the game.

Its all about preference really, some like the behind the goal action, some low down, some high up. Just feel sorry for those that are now being forced up there - you can bet your life that the available seats will be towards the back...

It looks like this is where I'll end up next season.
I've sat in L3 a number of times when I've taken guests and to be fair the view isn't bad at all, but it's the feeling that you are very detached from the game which is not helped by the silence.
However, with 1000's being relocated the issue with atmosphere may change.

probably alot better than level 7 at Newcastle.

I was up there 1 game and it took me until the 60th minute before i realised tony grant was playing for us

I often only realised he was playing when I saw the line-up in the Pink after the match!

I am in 327 - great view

BTW - am I right that renewal is June for that stand?

June 5th-11th.

I sit in Colin Bell tier 3 too.

The view from the front, especially towards the middle, is indeed the best in the stadium. From towards the back it's still good but you can feel a little bit disassociated from the action.

The people around me are all sound and mostly fairly knowledgeable. And noone stands up when we attack.

I love it up there.

If you want to balloon around and sing "Who's the faggot in the pink" it isn't for you though.

We're in Colin Bell L3, fairly central, on row J and the view is very good. We spent the first couple of seasons at the stadium on row V, which I felt was too far from the action and we managed to move to seats lower down. For the big games, the atmosphere is usually good, but for others I find it a bit quiet. I still long for the Kippax, even the seated version, but those days have sadly gone.

I have sat up there in both stands when we've swapped and taken the girls. The CB was a morgue and I had to tell a german youth team to STFU as they were messing around and taking no notice of the game at all. Shit really shit although the view was good enough from near the front.

Same again for ES3 vs Liverpool and half the punters around me right at the back were scousers and the rest clearly didn't appreciate my vocal support.

There is no way that it will be as good as our bit of NS1 where despite what some of the nobheads on here may think we are pretty vocal and have the craic.

I don't mind moving out and understand why but we will be absolutely fucking gutted if the only seats we can get are up there and this would probably put me off going to all but the biggest games. The fact that we will have to pay much more just adds insult to injury.

Been there on the front row of level three in block 323 and would never even think about moving. View is best in the ground. OK the atmosphere is not as load as other areas but it is what you make of it. If you are thinking about having my seat forget about it. Money ready and waiting to renew

I love the 3rd tier, great views and hardly any que's at the bars.

Yeah the atmosphere isn't that great but it's hardly quiet, if more people went up their and joined in then it's like anywhere, everyone would join in.
