Colin Bell

Unfortunately, No. We went wild when he came on. IIRC, he did hit the bar, which would have taken the roof off the Kippax.

O.k. my bad, then. I see from the history section of the Forum that the first goal he scored at Maine Road after the comeback was against QPR, in February. Maybe that's the match I remember. It is far, far away, now…
I have very special memories of that whole season, because that was the last year ever that I lived in England. Remember training down to Bristol to see us play against Bristol City, and went to other odd places like Middlesborough. What a fucking trek that was! I clearly remember looking round and thinking, "There is no money on God's earth that you could pay me to live in this place".
I really, really thought we were going to be champions that year, having just missed out the year before. We had a bloody good team, Colin Bell or no Colin Bell. Dennis Tueart walked on water, and we sang that, with a sha-la-la-la-la. Lots of pundits were tipping us, too. A shining memory is that FA Cup tie at Elland Road. I'd got so sick of seeing us beaten there over the years. And we played them off the park that day.
Pity that Clough and Forest had other ideas about where the title was going that season. :-(

For me that still remains the greatest atmosphere I have ever witnessed anywhere, unforgettable.
I was at the Newcastle game and also at Molineux when Colin scored his first goal since his comeback. The reaction was similar albeit the numbers involved were fewer with us being away. Spine tingling stuff.

We played Leicester City away soon after Newcastle match, won 1-0 Gary Owen pen.
City fans in two opposite corners of the ground singing nearly the whole game All You Need Is Bell to the Beatles tune All you Need is Love - brilliant atmosphere, he really was venerated.Anyone else at this match?

Was that the one with Miss Leicester City walking around the pitch before kick off and a bit of a munter selling programmes who got dogs abuse, all light hearted of course.

Part of the reason that the game was so emotional was that this was hi second return from the serious injury he suffered against the rags. He played half a dozen games towards the end of the 75/76 season including scoring a cracking goal against Leeds at Elland Road but he injured his knee again in the home game against Arsenal I think which then kept him out till the game on Boxing Day

Just read this, interesting about his background and why he's so shy.

Colin Bell talks Man City, injury and the plight of first club Bury https://mol.im/a/7499475 via http://dailym.ai/android

Just had a look at that.
That first photo – God but I was in love with that strip! Probably because it was the first one I ever owned, and I used to go prancing around in it in kickabout matches in parks in West Didsbury and suchlike, playing shit football and imagining I was Mike Summerbee. Say what you like, but it's utter class: no badge, no sponsor, no nothing, just that beautiful sky blue colour and the white trim. And the socks with the white and maroon trim! In love, I tell you…
