College Football

Love the NFL but really want to get into College Football this year(which started today and ive just watched a cracker Jacksonville 49-48 Old Miss), however its a bit complicated to say the least!!
Over 100 teams and lots of divisions,no playoffs just bowls and a BCS championship game which my understanding is their "Superbowl"
Anyone got ane easy guide to how it works?
Who are the teams to watch?

Been watching nfl for a few years and been getting in to cfb recently. Decided id pick a team to follow, the Uconn Huskies. Unfortunately we got beat the other day but really enjoying it and cant wait for the nfl season to start on friday. Also brilliant news that channel 4 have picked up snf meaning we have 4 games on a weekend at least, even better this weekend with 6 games on

College football is quite a spectacle. Only a few years ago it was so convuluted how they picked a champion. They VOTED on it. At the end of the season they had "Bowl" games based on geography. At the end of the day, its all about MONEY. Now its a bit better but its still based on VOTING. Number 1 v number 2 in the "polls" and they have a playoff game.

UConn huskies?? thats a bit of a strange choice. They are a traditional basketball power and dint even have a big time football team a few years ago!!

I know but i just wanted to pick a team who where on tv the other day, also like the look of Boise State so going to look how they go on and they are on espn america tonight against TCU so should be a very good game

Would go with boise myself or someone like Michigan or Alabama. Just saying... I am here in Washington visiting and Boise have a big game v Va Tech (TCU played and won last night). Met a mate for a couple of beers in town and there were LOADS of Boise St all over the place. Its a holiday weekend and a good time to be in DC. The game is being played right up the road in maryland. Talked to a couple of Boise people and they claimed to ahve taken almost 20,000 to tonights game. My mistake i knew it wasnt TCU but couldnt think who they where playing and on tv guide it says TCU for some reason. Boise are going to have a great season imo and could go all the way
