Probably been done to death and apologies in advance.

But anyone care to regal stories about "colourful boozers" that they have been in, not just Manchester.

The Old Monkey House from Nechells Birmingham for instance, used to only serve watered down cider but the land lady topped up its potency by putting "barbs" in the barrels.

A broke gas pipe on the wall used for heating.

Pub/club I ran once, go t so cold in the winter during bad snow, we ran out of fire wood and coal, so we used bar, stools, pool cues, left clothing etc. to keep the fire going.

Wonder how many of these exotic drinking dens are flat roofed estate pubs.
